I'll likely change it to customer pick up as soon as I get a UPS my choice notification just to ensure I don't miss the driver. I can get it at 9am that way too.

When i used my choice to reroute a shipment for customer pickup it worked just as you have noted.

However there have been a number of people claiming that rerouting these watches can make them take an additional day. Probably just whiny factor on that, but well.. for no logical reason i am beyond excited about this stupid wrist ornament, and i personally wouldn't touch the shipment in fears of mucking it up..

Ordered: April 10th 8:40PM EST
Watch: 42 MM SS Milanese Loop
To Be Delivered: May 22nd

What has been peoples experiance with the pick up option? hearing mixed things but has someone actually used it?

I just got to use one in person over the weekend and it's better than I expected. Much more excited now than I thought I would be. Now I'm lurking hard in the watch subforum looking for any updates I can find on shipping info. I regret waiting until later to preorder! Still a month or so to go. It sounds dumb but when you actually put it on it does become more personal and I love the look. The ML is very sharp.

I've used the pick up option before for iPhones etc..I switched my watch to pick up. Some people experience issues with pick up because they are not picking up from the hub's customer counter where their watch was being shipped to already. I work across the street from the main Columbus, OH hub. My watch would be on a truck departing there for delivery tomorrow anyway, so it's a quick move for them to reroute it to the customer counter. If the pick up location was a UPS store, or a secondary hub of the city, I could see that possibly taking extra hours, MAYBE a day because the watch would be loaded onto a truck and dropped off as a regular delivery to that location in their route.

TL;DR - if you're setting up a customer pick up, make sure it's the final hub the watch was going to already.

I've had some movement on my 42mm SS with Milanese Loop this afternoon/evening.

I ordered it at 8am on 11th April, and my status had been changed to show the 22nd - 29th June delivery that a lot of people have been seeing.

It has now updated to "Preparing for Dispatch" and the delivery date has been amended to show 17th - 24th June, although with it going to PFD today, I guess I will be getting it before then! Fingers crossed!

Hope others will start to see movement on theirs too!

Excellent news! Thank you for the update :D

That's the best news in over a month! I hope we move through the 11th of April orders real fast as I'm a 12th of April guy. ;)

Great info. I live in Louisville but my Watch is coming from Pennsylvania. i'm about ten min away from the hub out here. might be able to get the watch in the AM instead of waiting till i come back from work that night!

By all means.. be sure to let us know.. I ended up waiting till 7:00 pm to get my 38mm, even took the day off work. When the 42 ships.. it would be easier and faster to get it from the hub..

Yeah I'm thinking things will start moving quicker soon. I'm way back on April 22nd because I suddenly realized my work's wellness program will pay for most of the watch, but you would think that the vast majority of orders went out on the first couple days. If I had to take a guess, I would think the distribution is probably something like this quick chart I threw together:

Called UPS and told them I wanted to pick it up at the hub in town. It will be there waiting for me at 9AM instead of going out to delivery and possibly not getting it till around 3PM

Ordered 4/17 8:03PM MST processing for shipment 6/22-29. Ordered before I went to an Apple retail store on 4/24 and actually saw one and trident on the watch ordered and now received (seems sig). Hope these puppies ship early too

Correct, I edited my first post to show that. That was a slip up on my part! :)

No harm, no foul. Thanks for the update =)

yyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssss

I ordered mine on May 16th. On May 20th my shipping estimate moved from 5-7 weeks to 4-6 weeks. So with how quickly apple seems to be pushing these out I'm sure I'll get mine in June! Hoping for early June! I'm already tired of waiting.

Interesting. I ordered May 6th and I'm still 5-7 weeks. Oh well. For once I don't mind waiting for an Apple product.

Settle in.. I'm still showing end of june delivery and I ordered on 4/12... There are still a few ahead of you in this virtual line.

Funny, it turns out it's even more extreme than my chart above which I thought would smooth out a bit more. Although my chart wasn't so much about exact numbers, just trying to show the steep dropoff. However I'm surprised the day to day is quite a bit lower than what I set mine at, which was somewhere between 50-100,000/day. MR homepage has a story and this is the graph including the first day preorders:

projection_of_apple_watches_ordered_per_day_in_the_us_watches_chartbuilder-3.png

So if this is any indication, we should hopefully see our dates speeding up soon if most people beyond the 10th are getting orders now.

Edit:

Looking at the detailed graph in the story without the first day sales, it seems like if we're on the 11th for orders generally speaking, then there are about 330-350,000 orders ahead of my April 22nd order. Extrepolating that out from the ~1.4 million processed so far since launch that means they're shipping out around 33,000 watches per day. So if we take that out even further, then hopefully I will get a shipping notification in early June! One would assume that the earlier orders also had a higher mix of Apple Watch models vs. the Sport, and people coming to the game later are surely more likely to order the cheaper model than the fanboys, right?

Just looking at the numbers I'm going to predict I get my April 22nd 42mm SS ML watch between June 8th and the 12th. That is if these numbers are accurate!

... yeah. Not sure that was really necessary. I wasn't commenting on being in a rush. I was just posting it since it seemed odd.

You're right I read his post, and it definitely wasn't necessary, and you didn't seem rushed or entitled, so I'm not sure why he posted like that in response to you. But I hope I get mine before the rest of you get yours!!!! Haha jk

Weak humour I guess. Wasn't implying anything on your parts.. Trying to just say the current line is still in the 4-11/4-12 ordering time frame....

Lol cool, no worries. I don't know about you guys, but the wait is starting to get to me. Ordered 4/14, and I know many who ordered before me, still haven't gotten theirs yet. And I know we agreed to the time-frame given , before we ordered, but waiting over a month is a little much. And according to the time frames, it's over 2 months. I need try to stop thinking about it so I don't torment myself.
