This just posted on Twitter by "Cult of Mac".

Apple is getting ready to offer customers the chance to pick up their new Apple Watches in brick-and-mortar retail stores, according to a new option on the Apple Online Store describing the service as “available soon.”

Maybe Apple is catching up on deliveries faster than they anticipated.

Finally got registered! Card was charged this morning and just got the shipping email a few minutes ago. Should arrive on Thursday.

They aren't all Apple Watches. But from following this forum for the past few waves, when a bunch of flights land in Lousiville, we get a lot of posts saying that they are now being charged/preparing for shipment. I think it's safe to say that a majority of the shipments are Apple Watches.

Seems as though another "ghost plant" has come online to run ONLY 42mm SGS to clear out the backlog...and these could be coming from overseas via someone that is NOT UPS...but will be delivered to Alaska to be taken elsewhere by UPS...so, untrackable...

Take it at face value. I cannot provide any proof of these statements.

Got charged last night at 11pm PST but still have not received shipping confirmation. Still shows as preparing for shipment. How long after they charge does it take to ship? I'm in California.
 
My wife's went from authorization to shipped well within 12 hours. Mine was authorized for days and then the authorization dropped off. Apple says mine was authorized in error but to "hold on, it will ship soon." Hopefully you weren't authorized in error/too soon like I was (others were too).

EDIT: Never mind. Missed the "Preparing for Shipment" part.

It will say is shipped when UPS picks them up later this evening

Whoo! finally got charged early this morning. my order confirmation time was 3:06:48 am and apple site showing preparing to ship. Live in NYC, hope to receive it tomorrow!

My order was just shipped! Got tracking number but UPS website hasn't been updated yet. :cool::D
