what is the EOD?

Email of Death: A useless email that Apple sends out to reassure the buyer that (1) the buyer did, in fact, make a purchase, and (2) that Apple hasn't forgotten about them. In some cases, (3) that Apple's system is messed up and letting you know that you are getting something, at some point.

I deleted a bunch of new rows in the official sheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kU3O7zceWNdlD8GfT-QOmdY2whTRopxIJUTndyJWzvA/edit#gid=0) because for some reason someone was making a new table at the bottom of the sheet. Please double check your order is still there, correct, and up-to-date!

I just received an email from Apple with the subject: "Your Apple Watch Order" and it said, "Your USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter is expected to ship within the next 2-3 weeks..."

According to afrobat over on r/applewatch it works like this.

You get charged and "Preparing for Shipment" update around 1-3 hours prior to plane departures from Asia. This is when Apple is still in possession of the watches, so this is when they charge you and determine if your order is going to be shipped with this batch.

You get the UPS Tracking number and "Shipped" update a few hours after the planes have left Asia. UPS is now in possession of your package. So if you haven't gotten the "Preparing for Shipment" update at this point, you likely are not going to be getting it the next day.

Tracking information gets updated after the package has been processed through the Anchorage hub. That is, you'll start seeing updated statuses for your UPS tracking number.

Edit: There seems to be a lot of people who think that they're getting their updates after planes land in Louisville. This is wrong. This is just people who are getting their watches that day. It may seem like it, but it's only because people are charged and order statuses are "Preparing for Shipment" in the time between when planes arrive in Louisville and the next batch of shipments depart from Asia.

this kinda make sense, has everyone read this what yall thinK

Considering a great deal of people are getting charged the same time they usually have the past 2 Thursdays I think is some proof.. get off your high horse

He only said that Apple wouldn't hold back shipments for a Thursday specifically and if the indication is that a lot go Thursday there must be another reason for it.

You've waited 4 weeks already. Why mess with a system that is a finely tuned machine to possibly save a few hours versus maybe costing yourself a few more days?

Last minute changes with UPS never gets your package to you sooner. When you show up at the service desk and they don't have it (and they won't), there is no way for them to go back and find it. You won't get it until the next day.

you guys were saying...

it's been fun following in here, good luck to everyone!

It does make sense. PFS means there was an update in Apple's Servers regarding the order (which is when we could expect that apple gives the watch to UPS to ship). But I would think it's as they get closer to Alaska because apple doesn't update things real time. No big company would. They would send out a large order, and then charge everyone in bulk once their servers update and once they can verify they've given the shipment to UPS (because then it becomes UPSs responsibility). That's why we get bursts. Once they maybe go through customs they're given a tracking number and voila, you get the watch.

Does anyone know what was the latest order time for which CC was charged? US cities only please.

I ordered two; one at xx:05, and one at xx:14 for my gf. We went to try it on and she didn't like it and told me to cancel hers.. Me thinking since the ship times were the same i could cancel whichever one and it'd be fine, so i canceled whichever (happened to be the xx:05 one)....Boy was I wrong. It still haunts me in my dreams that i could have had it right now if i didn't make that mistake :(

This is making me worry now. I am an 08'er from Chicago. No EOD mail yet. But no charge or any other updates too yet. :(

I've been checking my email, bank account, and this forum almost ever hour of the day for the last 2 weeks! At least I have you folks who can cope with me. We will get our watches hopefully sooner than later! Still super excited.

Same here, I'm close in Charlotte, NC and am keeping the hope for an early delivery

hURRY uP

Still waiting. Added to the spreadsheet as well.

I chat with Apple to get my precise order time (see below) and asked "what are my chances for delivery by EOW next week....stated "Very good".

I will take that as reassurance!

I am an :08 as well and I take not getting the EoD as a good sign. It seems to be going to folks letting them know their watch wont be delivered at the beginning of their window (ie some time around May 13th) or even before for that matter. Not getting the dreaded email (at least to me) reassures me that I will have watch on wrist at some point next week. Hopefully by Wednesday, is my guess.
