Happy for our friends to the north, and I know they were lagging a bit prior to today, but it's really tough to see :12s happening up in Canada while the US is stuck in early :09s. 3 minutes could take more than a week to catch back up to.
I wouldn't put any stock in that frustration. Remember Canada only has a population of 35 million vs 318 million for the US. Assume that there are 10 times fewer orders in Canada for every minute of US orders. That's why Canadian orders seem to advance so quickly.
So say there are 100 orders for every minute that elapses in the US. There would only be 10 orders for that same minute in Canada. Technically speaking Canadian orders should be way advanced in term of ordering time by a factor of 10. However, since Canadian orders are only a few minutes ahead that means they are allocating way more orders for the US then they are for Canada. In fact Canada had fallen behind by a minute or so a couple of days ago.
