Been waiting for a while, and will have it in my hands only a week behind launch. Disappointing, since I ordered roughly 4 minutes after the store opened, but considering I ordered the most popular version and there was very high demand, I'm fine with this delay.

Certainly, the order in which products were fulfilled seemed a bit arbitrary, but after following for many days, it does seem to roughly follow the order time and country. There are likely other variables that, if we knew, would make things make more sense...but for now, I'm just happy mine is shipping and will be here tomorrow morning.

Thats not entirely true. Most of these are coming in bulk shipments on flights. These flights are coming from China, landing in Alaska at the world shipping hub and passed through customs. They are then flown to Louisville hub for scanning and distribution to other parts of the US for deliveries.

It's once they hit US (and most likely when they reach KY) is when your card gets charged. When that happens, apple updates your shipping status.

I am sure once the influx of orders are squared away and everything calms down, Apple will go back to their SOP's and ship watches by order directly to your door from China like most of their new products.

I just got the update but I can't find where it would show any realtime status updates. Sounds pretty rad but I'm wondering if it's just the kind of thing that will change to "Preparing to Ship" from "Processing" or if there actually is some more granularity.

Just chatted with Apple support. They told me my order time was 12:54am on 4/10. I was confused because I remembered my confirmation email being earlier.

Double checked my email header and I received my confirmation email at 12:12:58 am, so I'm hoping that, like many others, they read just the minutes and seconds instead of the hours and minutes.

At this rate, even at XX:12:54 (which is essentially XX:13:00) it will probably be a while...

She did say that she is confident they will beat the May 13th estimate since the shipments are moving out faster now, but as much as I want to believe that I feel like the SG sport is still moving at a crawl...

I am 1-2 seconds before you with the same order but located in Chicago. Will be interesting to see who gets it first.

I am leaving town next Tuesday night though for 3 weeks. What's the latest opinion on changing the shipping address? Will it set me back to reroute the watch to the Bay Area? I might settle for paying for another shipment, only because the watch will prove useful during my trip.

Realtime order status updates now available via Apple Store iPhone app, apparently with push notifications. Just noticed the new update about an hour ago.

I'm hoping they will be way past 10 by the end of next week. Hopefully they ramp up in SG production, and I believe that after the five minute mark there were less watches ordered per minute. It seems like the first 5 minutes were the most intense.

If they show Preparing to ship, I believe they have likely been charged at that point (I could be mistaken) and the majority of people I have read here seem to go from charged to watch in hand in under 48 hours.
