The 3G iPhone Lands Down Under?

Late yesterday afternoon MacTalk received the above photo from a very reliable source who can not be named for obvious reasons (fear of assassination by the Apple Secret Police I presume). Word on the street is that resellers across the country have also received similar packages. As seen by the picture, it's contents are protected under NDA until Tuesday June 10 - does that date ring a bell to anyone?

Our source strongly believes that the package contains the much coveted 3G iPhone. Why is there only one and why is it here early though? Our source believes that the iPhone contained within is for promotional purposes, ie. after it's official unveiling at WWDC next week, the iPhone will go on display with a sign saying 'look how cool I am - you can buy me on this date'. That date still looks like it will be June 19, coinciding with the opening of the flagship Sydney Apple Store.

In early April, MacTalk published an exclusive story detailing Apple's plans for the iPhone in Australia and providing the arguably world first news that the iPhone would be sold without the exclusive carrier model. Despite the story being dismissed at the time, these facts have all but been confirmed by Apple themselves. This image provides yet more evidence in the case for the iPhone landing here officially very soon.

here comes the board members saying "I call BS on this. The label looks to be Photoshopped"

I hope its the 9th for us here in the US...

honestly how hard would it be to create a label like that and stick it on a box?
I mean it doesnt look like the right side to contain an iPhone box (unless it is redesigned) it looks a little too small to be a tablet.

*just saying*
 
June 19th!!?!??! I have been without my cell phone (and my ipod) in anticipation for this for like 3 weeks. Please, Steve release it by Tuesday !
 
oh come on... look at it- its freaking unevenly cut piece of paper.. id at least think Apple PR would use label paper.
 
Just because it is June 19th in AU, doesn't mean it can't still be tuesday here in the US (or somewhere else, whatever). The fact that it says it can be opened June 10th seems to indicate that secrecy will no longer be a concern. Therefore, June 10th release?
 
By June 10th , I assume the cat would be out of the bag.

And why would they stick that NDA notice on the BOTTOM OF THE BOX!

Please put it on the top of the box next time. Or at least cover the bottom seal thingy.
 
Besides, What are the penalties for violating the NDA rules?

Would you take $10,000 ? $20,000? This stuff KILLS ME ! ! Id like to know what I'd do!
