Ok...i am going to try one more time...

SHSHs...had NOTHING>>>> ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the processor...A4, A5, Pentium, X386...NOTHING... the A5 didn't patch anything to do with SHSHs.

The Bootrom on the A5 doesn't have the same exploits as the bootrom on the A4, and that is a giving since it is a new chip it had to have a different boot image. again totally unraled with how the SHSHs works on iOS5

Also the way we were able to save the SHSHs.was not using a Bug....at all, SHSHs were working as intended, we jut figure out how they did it and leach the system. No Bugs.....

Do you know what SHSH Blobs are???

The A5 chip doesn't have a proper bootrom exploit, thus there is no proper way to back them up. It will block it from downgrading and since Apple changed the SHSH exploit with its new chip, which also does more than just process, but block code that it is told to, it blocks SHSH that isn't the latest firmware that you have already on your A5 chip iDevice. Look it up: "A5 chip SHSH" and read the first five articles.

First SHSHs have NOTHING..... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the A5 chip...and second the way the did it before it was NOT a "bug".

Also, I never said that the A5 chip, or any iDevice's processor for that manner has anything to do with SHSH blobs. I said by using the A5 chip and its microprocessing and bootrom, Apple has blocked the SHSH restore. SHSH blobs are files that store the signed firmware from Apple that were signed at the time so the user can downgrade using iTunes by holding Shift and clicking restore. You also must add a host file "gs.apple.com something" and it will instead use Cydia and it's server and take the SHSH blobs saved and then restore, which makes Apple's server verify it like as if it were still signed at this time. I didn't mean bug in the literal sense, but it was funny how you, or whoever called me a "newb." I see that some adults still can sound like 12-year old kids these days.

Thank you.

Sorry, but you're still wrong. You first say that the A5 chip has nothing to do with blobs, which is correct. But then you go on to say that by using the A5 and it's respective hardware bootrom prevents blobs from being useful. So you contradict yourself and are still wrong.

Here are the facts;

The bootrom and processor have NOTHING to do with blobs. The blobs involve the ECID, so a combination of software and "serial number" of the device to create a unique fingerprint per each device. iOS 5 handles the process of verifying and signing software very differently than iOS 4, thus even if you're blobs are saved, you cannot fool iTunes into downgrading from iOS 5 to a previous version of iOS 5 (at present at least, maybe in the future there will be a work around). This problem presents itself in all iDevices running iOS 5, and is not relative to the processor.

You're way off on the shsh blobs bro.
The A5 has nothing to do with that.
The new shsh blob will be implemented using a new software blob check on all devices past 5.0 including 3GS, iphone 4, iPad 1 etc. Those do not have an A5 and the bootrom exploit has nothing to do with the blobs.
Admit it you're wrong and move on, no big deal.

You're wrong.

No, you're wrong.

No no, you're wrong.

DUDE...you failed once again I give up....

A5 doesn't block anything, just in case you haven't noticed, you can't save SHSHs on iOS5 on the iP4 either (which it have the old bootrom with a known exploit) and also on the 3GS (which it had a even older processor). Main Processor got nothing to do with the way Apple decided to handles SHSHs.

Also I know that you think you know what SHSH blobs are, but you are very confuse, while you got an understanding on how Apple uses it, you got no idea what they are, those are used on UNIX system for a verity of things and they are none dependent on any hardware component.

Blobs or Binary Large Object, are a collection of binary data stored as a single entity in a database management system. Blobs are typically images, audio or other multimedia objects, though sometimes binary executable code is stored as a blob. Database support for blobs is not universal.

You're wrong.

No, you're wrong.

No no, you're wrong.

It is not much about him/her being right or wrong, but (s)he had already spread the misunderstanding on the SHSHs and Possible new jailbreaks in several threads, this will confuse a lot of people (which usually come here from answers and are already very confuse), some of us use this forum a lot and would like to keep it as clean and clear as possible.

5.0.1 is out, should i update? I would imagine they would release a jb that is compatible with that? My battery life on my 4s is killing mr lol.

That's what I heard too.
Im glad I dont have the prox issue or the antennagate on my 4S but I think Im stuck with something worst this time.
Bad battery:(

Return your phone and get a replacement. My iPhone 4s have great battery aftEr the update. It may be your battery itself that has a problem.

Does the 4S have qualities that make it more difficult to jailbreak?

What is the typical time from new release to jb?

I feel like with iOS 5 being released so close to the 4S, that hackers are split between different tasks. (oh and add the iPad2 to that)

I love the 4S but really miss my SBSettings.

I am sure you are asking because you want to help out with developing the JB right???

lmao... when it comes out it will come out...

I believe that in time there will be no more jailbreak. It may be sooner than later. A5 chip is very difficult to jailbreak (just look at the iPad 2, which has been on the market more than half a year already). When A6 chip comes out it will be even HARDER than now, and jailbreak developers will give up because of apples strict policy. Its a shame.

When that happens... I predict a mass exodus... and Apple will be left wondering why their sales will be dropping. I will be one of the first to leave, since iPhones potential are basically going to waste in Apple's locked down restrictive environment.

Still no 'today' screen to speak of on iOS5! Notification Center doesn't show on he Lock Screen, and calendar and weather won't show on the lock screen even with 'show on lock screen' enabled in settings! :( I want widgets with all my info... and not hidden in a pull down screen that I have to unlock the lock screen to get to!!!

I feel that in time we wont have a jb aswell as all the best are leaving the scene now or putting there skills to a use that pays more. Its also hard for the scene to progress as the top jailbreakers wont/cant share there finds to allow more people to get on board. I no that it is no easy process by an means i have been trolling the wiki for about a year or so now and i have only a little knowledge but if the scene dissapears so will millions of users for sure. The restrictions are just awfull

Get an Android phone because widgets will never be coming to iOS in that fashion.

Agreed.

Yes, all the people who can no longer apply a theme to their iPhone will stage a 'mass' exodus.

There won't even be a 'mass exodus' of people who jb, much less anyone else. Even if everyone who jailbreaks left, it wouldn't be noticed.
