Here is a picture from a Nikon D80 SLR with a 50mm lens @ F1.8, ISO 320, 1/25th Shutter (Bolded so noone thinks its an IP4S pic :p) - this is correctly exposed and is a good representation of how dark the room in the picture a few posts ago really is.

And yes yes i know.. it's blurred. But that makes a good point. If a SLR on ISO 400 and F1.8 can't get it looking correctly exposed/noise free without a slow shutter speed, what chance does an iPhone have!

On iPhone 4s, try using AE lock on something that's not too light or too dark in the frame (something in the middle of the grayscale) and shoot. You'll get the more better representation of your picture and LESS noise.

Do you have a case? Did you replace the back with a non-Apple back? If not there is something wrong with your phone. Try another genius or Apple store. Take a pic of a solid white background-wall, etc and show it to them. Definite problem.

Iphone 4s Lens Flare use..

I havenot changed the back cover.. They said this is a normal lens flare issue.. They even used another 4s in the store to get the same result. This is happening only when taking a photo against a bright light... Normal scenario there is no issue..so very confused.:(

What?

Lens flares are a normal thing for any camera with a lens. (That includes pretty much all of them.)

Obviously you'll get different results with different kinds of lenses, but none are completely flare-free. The existence of flares at all is not a problem.

If you can get a shot with 2 iPhones and one has flares and the other doesn't...well then you may have an issue. But you can't complain that there are just flares in general. Of course there are...the iPhone has a lens on it. It'll happen.

Stock app, no editing. I would say it's not bad.
