Good to hear. I'm going to rock my 4s for another year and maybeeeee spring for a 6. Yeah that 3-generation jump

I did that between the 3G and the 4S, and the 3G was pretty much a dog by then.. I'm going with a 2 gen update this time around, and looking forward to the 5S on the way

I got my iPhone 5S via UPS yesterday and it is such an improvement on my 4S! It's so much quicker and the battery life is amazing! I hope this same battery life remains. After an 8 hour work day my percentage was 86%. With my 4S it would have been around 51% on average.

Well sure you got a CPU bump, so it better run quicker.

As far as battery, well your 4S battery maybe worn, so comparison there, I take a few grains of salt.

Me, keeping my 4S. I don't need 4G/LTE whatever. Don't like the look of IOS7. Love the look and heft (crazy I know) of the 4S. So keeping it until it can go no more.

Coming from the 4s also.

Three unexpected likes:
1 larger screen
2 lighter weight
3 finger print scanner

Funny, coming also from a 4s, those are the things I don't. I already knew I didn't like 1 and 2 because I have a 5 for development, but now that I'm using the 5s as my daily driver it is annoying when it's in my pants pocket. And as for 3, I'm having a really bad experience with it, so much so that I might have to schedule a Genius appt.

But everything else about the 5s is awesome. It's so fast, way more so than the 5, and the LTE is so nice to finally have. Battery life seems a bit worse than the 4s though.

Thanks for this thread, I am one of those 4S owners eligible for an upgrade but still on the fence on whether it is worth it....good to hear other 4S to 5S converts experiences..
If there was a black/slate 5S I'd do it in a heartbeat, not too convinced with the Gray yet..

It is well worth it, trust me! It's such a noticeable difference from the 4S.

I understand what you mean, though, about the color. My mom has the slate 5 and I actually do prefer that one over the space grey. I think the darker grey looks sleeker as opposed to the lighter "space" grey. However, I put a skin on mine so I don't even see the grey color. But overall, it's been such a great improvement.

Lol to each his own I guess.
I like the footprint of the 4s too which is why I guess it was a pleasant surprise to like the bigger screen and lighter weight of the 5s. I'd take it in if you are having trouble with the fingerprint scanner. Mine has been very consistent.

Ironically I upgraded for improved battery life and the 5s has been disappointing for me in that arena.

Coming from the 4s to the 5s it appears to me to be easier to read. Think the contrast ratio is better than the 4s...

im coming from a 4s to a 5s, and its very nice upgrade, the fingerprint thingie is actually pretty nice. and very fast and responsive, the camera functions are nice too like slo-mo, I have to get some doggie treats for my dog to do some tricks on slo-mo

however, the 4S is still a very nice phone, and it seems like its like a compact iphone because screen is smaller.

Still on the fence on whether I should keep it around as a backup/2nd line phone or sell it. I might get a pay as you go sim and pop it in

I also went from a 4S to the 5s. The improvements I like in no particular order...

1. Crazy fast LTE speeds in my area (32Mbps is the max so far)
2. Burst Mode on the camera
3. Slo-mo video mode.
4. Everything seems quicker and smoother when using the device
5. better sound quality during phone calls.
6. better camera picture quality
7. finger print scanner works great
8. larger screen is nice
9. I like the Lightning connector. Wasn't thrilled with switching from the 30-pin because of having to buy new cables, adapters etc.. but it is a much nicer connector to deal with and you don't have to worry about which way it goes into the socket.

Things I don't like...

1. The phone has rebooted on me 2 or 3 times since I got it on the 25th. That rarely happened if at all in the 2 years I had my 4S. Hopefully that will be fixed in a software update.

Wouldn't you already be expecting the points in bold since you updated to a new phone?

I honestly don't understand why some people nitpick other members' posts.

darkfiber is pointing out improvements noticed with the upgrade. I don't find this to be of any fault and I certainly don't find any justification to bold out lines of their reply for ridicule to the OP.

I'd kindly suggest finding a new hobby.

In which aspect of my post did I specifically "nit-pick" at his post? It's merely a simple one line question conveying my surprise, and you are inferring that I'm ridiculing him?

Who's the one that needs a new hobby? Preferably one that doesn't involve wrong and absurd interpretations.

One thing to keep in mind though is that you're inherently comparing a new battery (in the 5s) to a used one (4s). I wondering what the battery life comparison would be like with a new 4s vs a new 5s - when I first got my 4s the battery life was amazing as well. Anyways I'm hoping the 5s would come out ahead in batt life test but it's something to be aware of.

Same here. I upgrade every 2 years on the S models & I love it that way. So far I'm loving every single thing about the 5s. I didn't expect to love ios 7, but I do. I didn't bother updating my 4s to ios 7, and immediately after getting the new iPhone ios 6 felt outdated to me.
