You don't say if you've got a 15" or a 17"...if you've got a 15 then...
Make sure they replace it with the midrange MBP that has the 9400m and the 9600GT. A awhile back they tried to replace a MacRumors user's lemon 15" MBP with the bottom of the range 15" MBP which only has the integrated 9400m. It had a faster processor than the model it was replacing, but it still is an inferior model. The 9400m is slower than the 8600GT and it uses system memory instead of its own discrete memory.
A little back and forth between Apple and the user in question made them change their minds and state that the bottom of the range 15 was not an adequate replacement for a MBP with a 8600 in it.

Or he could say he requires expresscard capabilities and they'll might push him up to a 17" . That would be my excuse if I ever needed a replacement since I DO need an the ExCard and plan on getting the 17" when this one dies. But don't lie about it

Right, this is something I have considered. I'd even pay the 300 dollar difference if they let upgrade to the next model up from the $2,000 one. Thanks for the heads up!
