I did try a browser, email, etc. and all worked well. I'll try again later (let's see if I can wait more than 5 minutes!).

UPDATE: Nothing had changed, it seemed frozen, so I rebooted my phone but that didn't help. I waited another few minutes but the watch was frozen so I rebooted that, too.

This time, I got the Downloading/Estimating time screen on the phone, but after waiting 30 minutes, that was frozen too. Finally I called Apple. She had me reboot the watch again, and it booted fine, still in 5.0.1, so i decided to leave it there for the time being. I've had enough excitement for one day.

Update2: I got tired of looking at that red badge on the Apple Watch app on my phone, but when I checked it, it said "Preparing..." and was halfway through the progress bar, even though I'd been wearing the watch since I got off the phone with Apple. I put it back on the charger, left it there, and it finally updated successfully.

Make sure your charger is plugged in all the way.. I was having the same problem and it turned out the USB cable was not secure.

It was. The watch was in nightstand mode the whole time, every time I'd touch the stand it would light up.

I'm on iOS 12.1.1 and the watch beta, but it's only showing 5.1 and not 5.1.1. Any idea why or what to do? Series 4, BTW.

[doublepost=1541567815][/doublepost]I had the same problem, sort of:

Mine stuck on "verifying"
I rebooted both phone and watch
Then it kept saying I wasn't connected to the internet.
I put on the watch, unlocked it, then put it back on the charger, and rechecked for update.
It seems to be installing fine now.

Hope that helps!

I updated my S4 last night and since then Siri barely works maybe 1 out of 10 times or less. I tried rebooting and still the same behavior. I raise my wrist to speak, it hears me, prints out what I said and then just vibrates and goes back to the watch face. Pretty damn frustrating.

Edit: After further testing it seems to be the raise to speak that is broken. I can raise my wrist and say something and the watch brings up Siri and hears what I said but then ignores me immediately. However if I hold the button down and say the exact same thing, it completes the action.

Repeated that like 10 times.

Updated ok on my watch edition S3 but not sure if it really did anything.

5.1.1 installed fine on my s3 and thankfully installed fine on/didn’t brick my s4 unlike 5.1

Did not install 5.1 on my S3 or S4 after reading about all the issues others were having. Now with 5.1.1 released I have installed it on both. The install went fast for both watches and no issues.

Didn’t install 5.1 and now trying to install 5.1.1 but it seem stuck at preparing for ages. I hope it move on soon and install. I hope nothing wrong.

Edit: Press back Apple Watch app on iPhone and software update page again lucky give me install option. So I was stuck preparing update after all earlier.

So what’s the concensus on 5.1.1 now?
Enough people running it with no issues?
I still have yet to install it.
Thanks. S

Just installed it last night. My watch still functioning this morning. :p

And the whole process is painless. I just said OK to automatic update on the night and it was updated when I lift it up in the morning.

5.1.1 worth it?

My s4 still on 5.0.1

Always cautious and slow to update. Avoided the bricking fiasco by my habits :p

Upgraded to 5.1.1 with no issues on both the S3 and S4. Not sure what additional anything it gave me.
