Jesus Christ. Enough with the mockup a already. Post an article when their is an actual leak from the supply chain!!

We publish mockups of the 4.7-inch version, people say "I want to see the 5.5-inch one...where's that?" So we publish mockups of the larger ones and people still aren't happy.

Yes, there have been a lot of mockups...it's that time of year. But it's still a fairly small fraction of our overall coverage, and no one is going to be interested in every story we publish. If this isn't your cup of tea, feel free to move on and wait for something else to be posted.

Still, this is something like the 7th mockup-related article in as many days. Considering that all these mockups are based on the same leak, isn't that overdoing it a bit? If there was something new and fairly reliable, that would be different. But how many size comparisons of the same two (or three) things do we need?

I always find the large Android phones ridiculous (i.e. too large for a phone) and hoped that Apple would never go that way. Hopefully they still keep the "smaller" version, the 4.7'.

anything bigger than a 5/5s is just stupid for a phone

i don't understand it & wish apple didn't give in to it, i don't even like the would be 4.7in i6

OMG what a statement...SHUT UP and keep buying the iPhone 5 it will be available for years

Go to just about any store selling phones that is not an Apple store and you can see every size up to 6"+ phones. I was just in Walmart a few minutes ago and they have 5.5" and 4.7" screen Samsungs plus 6" screens too on display right next to phones only a little bigger or smaller than the 5s.

All this whining based on pictures cracks me up. The difference in (live, in the hand) size from 4" screen to even 6" screen is not that great. Yes, a bigger-screened phone is going to be bigger than a smaller-screened phone, but the difference in the extremes is measured in a few centimeters.

As someone has posted again, wrap a current iPhone in an Otterbox or similar case and you're just about there. Reading some of these posts, you'd think a 5.5" iPhone is about the size of an iPad Mini. It's not even close. Not even remotely close.

As is (too) often posted here: if you don't want a bigger-screened iPhone, don't buy one. The market for smart phones appears to have shifted to screen sizes bigger than 4". Even Apple itself has acknowledged this in the Samsung case revelations. Apple is going there. If "we" cling to anything bigger than 4" is "stupid", "an abomination" and so on because Apple has endorsed 4" as the one and only perfect size for right now, they are about to shift AGAIN (once 3.5" was the one and only perfect size and everything bigger than that was "an abomination" until Apple rolled out the bigger screen). Apple also said that anything less than 9.7" was much too small for a good tablet; then they rolled out a 7.9" iPad and have sold millions of them.

If you objectively believe that 4" is the perfect size, hope that Apple makes a 6 in that screen size too. Otherwise, the diagonal screen size difference of 4" to 4.7" is very little. Those wanting even bigger are willing to give Apple money to build them for them. Apple apparently sees enough money there that it wants to build them rather than trying to make that market segment settle for 4.7" or 4" or 3.5" instead.

Every thread is the same: "way too big", etc... until Apple launches it… then it's "shut up and take my money" and "best iPhone ever!" It was the same with the transition from 3.5" to 4":
(1-prerumor and early rumors)detest & bash,
(2-as rumors began to pile up)"it's kind of growing on me",
(3-when it seemed inevitable that Apple was about to change) "I'll wait & see"
(4-when Apple launched the change) "shut up and take my money."
Haven't we seen this movie over and over before?

You sir have just schooled everyone in this thread about hating on something that Apple has not endorsed in the past. How easy people forget about how Stev Jobs famously said that all tablets below 9.7 in screen size where Dead upond arrival... and guess what ... like you said ... they did 180 degree turn on this ...

Same thing for the phone ... 3.5 WAS the best screen size at the time ... Well guess what times have changed ... maybe that was true back when the iPhone came out becauze people didnt use it as much for PDF reading, Games, and web pages have a lot more details in them these days ..
having a biger screen size just makes sense ... but marketting wize .. Apple were just being rude ignoring that.

People need choice ... if you dont like 4.7 in screen stick to your 5S .. if 4.7 in isnt enough ... then you have a 5.5. option ... Choice is good !!!

Stop bitching about having choice People !!
Glad to see that I am not the only one who has seen this movie before !

Well said, personally I'm looking forward to the 5.5" iPhone 6 I think it will be a welcomed device.

Looks great for a one device person, but I'd rather have a smaller phone and an iPad than try to mix them together.

The mockup adopts the iPod touch-style curved edges

Correction: The mockup adopts the iPad-style curved edges

I'm tellin ya:
4.7" = iPhone
5.5" = iPad nano 4G (with voice calling)

Wow! That looks so massive next to a 4" display. I'm beginning to think the 4.7" will take the lion's share of iPhone sales. Apple should still sell 50 million of these a year, though.

Honestly, what is wrong with the U.S. and their huge freaking phones?

Like going back to the brick age. Every time I drive up next to somebody talking on their samsung Note or Galaxy, it looks like they are holding a dang iPad to their face. Looks really stupid. Remember JnCO jeans with the HUGE pockets? Gonna have to make a comeback, because you can't fit a 5.5 inch phone in a pocket without looking ridiculous.

I am more than fine with a 4.7" display... It is somewhat logical. 5.5", however...

As for me, I'll stick with [what I believe was] Jony's/Steve's opinion - sexy is not freaking Ginormous.

IMO, don't hate.

I've just unsubscribed from push notifications - enough of MocRumors for me.

I'll still visit, once in a while, for the hope of some more substantial news and true rumours

 Examples of what you consider "substantial news" and "true rumours"?

Isn't a "true rumor" just a press release? If that's what you're looking for, just go to Apple's website.

You guys are sucking all the fun out of hype and speculation. Please keep your promises and stay away from this site like you threaten every year, and yet continue to fail spectacularly at.

I'm happy to see this one. I was wondering just how big 5.5 was and now I can see its rediculously huge. Thanks!

Everyone is different and want different things. To me that size is absolutely ridiculous. It's a step backwards to have a mobile phone that size. lol

Ahhh keeping with the time honored Apple tradition of giving customers phones with larger physical dimensions with less screen real estate at those dimensions than their competitors. Innovative design....real innovative. And from a company that preached so much about design and ergonomics.... bollocks

Go to Asia. This isn't a "US" thing. In asia (namely Taiwan) the note 2/3 is like a standard next to the iphone. I even see people strutting around with their note 8's all the time. And it's understandable, a bigger screen device is like carrying a computer with you everywhere. And people use it for everything but calls more often than not. Apple should just release a small flip phone for those who keep wanting smaller and smaller phones because clearly media consumption is not their primary usage.

Edit: I said namely only because I noticed it there, can't speak for the other asian countries.
