Apple didn't create a new chip specifically for the 5C. The 5C uses the same chip as the 5.
Despite it being 'unlikely' that apple would create 2 different chips at one time, doesnt mean it cannot happen though.

I don't think it will be a different processor per se, just clocked differently like iPad and iPhone processors are clocked slightly differentHope not! I want to buy a phone based on screen size, and not be forced to use a bigger screen to get better performance.
For the same reason, most likely, that they do just that with the iPad. The A7 in the RD Mini runs at a lower clock speed than the one in the Air. It's all about battery, cooling, power and efficiency.I doubt this. Why would Apple make two types of 'iPhone' under the same brand.
Ok lets do a roundup of the rumors on differences between the 4.7 & 5.5":
Different processors
Different touch module
Different glass material
Different camera lens system
If all these turn out to be true, it will be a stretch to call both the iphone 6!
Even if true - So what?

But bigger screen means a space opportunity for bigger processor and bigger battery (to support bigger processor) and more space for heat dissipation(?).
To support a bigger graphics chip to support a bigger screen?
Traditionally I could could get a faster MacBook Pro with a 17" screen vs. a 13", which was a disappointment.

I smell a 6S 6C in the works..... 5.5 sounds awesome if it'll have better specs but it can't fit it my pants though.... Specs vs Comfortability
So i can snapchat faster? Who cares about phone speed? Now if it had a significantly better battery life...

True that, afraid that the 4.7" iphone 6 would be the "c" version.![]()

64 bit, desktop class power...
Can't keep more than 2 tabs open in safari.
This would tie in with a macbook-esque lineup. I'm thinking iPhone Air (4.7") and iPhone Pro (5.5"). Although I personally think the 'iPhone Pro' should be thicker like the Macbook Pro's for a better battery life. iPhone Air for everyday users, iPhone Pro for those who want a bigger screen, faster processor and better battery life. Just my 2 cents
