Anyone downgrading from the plus model to the 4.7? I used the 6S plus for a whole year and my conclusion is that it's a little too big for me, just my opinion though, how about you guys?!!

I think it will be very hard for anyone to downgrade to the smaller phone when you consider the amazing camera technology in the larger model this year.

I have the 6s and like the size but I'm pretty sold on the camera. If it wasn't for that camera though...

I am switching to the smaller model this year. Sure, I would love to have the nicer camera, but I have 3 iPads that I use daily and almost never touch my phone anymore except when I am waiting in line for coffee or something. I am ready for something smaller. If I hate it, I will attempt to exchange it within my 14 days. We will see how it goes.

Yeah the 14 day exchange is a good idea, I wanna try the 4.7 and see how I'll like it over the plus model...

I had a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 for 2 days before the "fires started". Took back to the store for a FULL refund. The main reason I bought it was the form factor (screen size about the same as the 6+), but the overall size was about half way between the 6 and the 6+ since the Galaxy has a wall to wall screen. There is no way I want a 6+. From what I've read on the rumor mill, the IP8 screen will also be "wall to wall" which should make it Galaxy size. If so, I'll get one in a NY minute.

From my casual observation since the 6+ came out 2 years ago (seems like yesterday), there are far more women carrying them than men. Purses verses pockets??? I had no trouble carrying the Galaxy in my pocket.

The only difference in the cameras is that one will have a medium wide angle F1.8 lens and the other will have that plus the medium telephoto F1.8 lens and inbuilt software to add faux shallow depth of field to the telephoto shot.

Both will be using the same sensor (x2 in 7+), same optical image stabilization and same image processing system. I bet most people who actually have an "eye" will be just fine with the regular 4.7" iPhone 7 camera. My wife has the 6+ for work....no freaking WAY I would be able to work with a phone that big, the 4.7" is already really pushing it.

I did a month long magazine assignment in Cuba this year using black and white film with a single Leica M6 and 35mm F1.4 lens. I wanted for nothing more and crushed it.

I'm downgrading. As much as I love the screen, my 6S+ is a little too bulky for me. The new camera and enhanced battery life on the smaller model make it hurt less.

Actually, the telephoto is a f2.8 per the specs, which is pretty meh.

I got the 6+, downsized to the 6S and despite initially being pleased with that decision I have come to really regret it. So I am back to the 7 Plus this year.

I think changing sizes will help the phone feel genuinely new to me. I have had the 6+ and the 6s+ and I am frankly just getting tired of looking at the same phone. I know, that sounds dumb...

Have had a 5.5 for almost 2 years. Tried the 4.7" for a week and couldn't stand it. Videos and games just don't feel the same on a smaller screen.

Just out of curiosity; what made you regret it?
The worse battery life, the inferior screen quality. The fact that I soon came to realise I had gotten used to the better screen real estate for web browsing etc and it all just felt so small after spending a year with a larger device.
The only reason I switched from the Plus was because I missed taking my phone out running. I've since gotten an Apple Watch so no longer take me phone with me on my runs.

If the size of the Plus is a problem, try using it without a case. It's much more pleasant, and shaves off quite a bit in each dimension.

It's just got too many advantages over the smaller model to give up.

I went for 6S Plus and loved the camera, battery life, etc. But I realised that one hand usability is really important for me. I can't comfortably type with this phone. Regarding battery life, I wouldn't be able to get through two days with one charge, so that battery life isn't that much better. I am not 100% decided to get 4.7" screen until I see photo quality of 5.5" model. If it's twice as good I might have to go with 5.5". At least 4.7" now has OIS.

I went from a 6+ to a 6s and liked it. I agree changing sizes helps them feel new. Ive used them all and am able to get used to the sizes very quickly. Went from a 5S to a 6+ to a 6s to a note 7 to a SE. For the 7 I'll go with the 7+.

I, like you, get used to sizes very quickly. A few years ago I left iPhone for Android and tried a big screen. A few months later I realized that I hated the platform and went back to iPhone. I went from a huge Samsung galaxy screen back to the iPhone 4s and after about 24 hours I was fine. We will see if I can do the same this time. I have never had any issues with finding the phone I want within 14 days if I need to exchange.

I have had the 6 Plus and now 6s Plus and I really love the big screen, at this point every time I use my wife's phone my mind is made up that I need to stick to the plus. I really wish it was more Note 7 like in it's build, but it is still perfectly useful for me and I don't want to miss out on the dual camera or the awesome battery life.

I've used the 6 plus for two years now and I'm downgrading.

Battery life was the biggest reason when picking the 5.5 inch phone. Seems there is little difference between the 7 and plus now.

Although I hadn't intended to trade up, a better battery and larger storage for about the same money has made me decide to try the 7. I have a 6s+ and although I do like it, I think I may go for the 7. I use an ipad pro while at home and when I'm out (unless I am on a train or a passenger in a car) I really don't look at apps too much. I have small hands and the 6s+ is just too unwieldy some times. I may keep the plus as a back up or give it to one of my kids.

I love everything about the 6S plus, it's just that it's not comfortable to use with one hand, and I hate it when it's in my pocket, only thing stopping me from going to 4.7 is the 720p screen, I just wish apple updated it to 1080p...
