5.7-inch "iPhone Pro"

So according to a rumor I read today which leaked the back of a rose gold iPhone 7, there will be three (!) new iPhone 7 models this year:
  • iPhone 7 4.7"
  • iPhone 7 Plus 5.5"
  • iPhone 7 Pro 5.7"
I was surprised to hear about this "iPhone Pro" as separate from the 5.5" Plus. I figured that Apple would just rename the Plus and give it the dual camera, but according to this rumor the Pro will get the dual camera as well as an A10X chip and fast charging. It would also be more expensive.
Of course this is all rumor and speculation but still fun to discuss. I personally was considering upgrading from a 6 to the Plus for the dual camera, but now that it's rumored to be on an even bigger iPhone, that's also even more expensive, I don't think I'll go for it. The plus is already a bit too big for me I think.
Anyway, if this rumor turns out true, would you buy a 5.7" iPhone Pro? Would you do it just for the pro features or for the bigger screen?

Well, the leak looked pretty legit. And we did have a leak make the front-page about the 32gb base storage, and this article lines up with that; I also think the 128->256gb makes sense, since the iPad Pros have this same storage lineup.
 
In your opinion, what about the report looks legit? The photo they have there makes no claims to be the chassis of the 5.7" device, unless of course I'm missing something. Physically speaking I didn't really see anything on that page that we haven't already seen elsewhere.

I have to admit I'd be over the moon if Apple dropped 16gb in favor of 64, yet kept the price the same, but I just don't see that as being very likely at all at this point.

While I do think Apple is stubborn, I don't think they're completely closed to the world - they won't fragment their iPhone lineup any further (in my opinion). Next year I hope we will see a return to the "iPhone" moniker with sizes are differentiations... but I've been thinking that for years.

Everyone would "complain" that the 5.7 is too big then buy one on release day (forcing a shortage, as usual).
 
I've probably mentioned it 100X before. But ever since the infamous iPhone 4 leak. Around 80% of actual images and pictures have been true to what Apple does announce at iPhone event. I like how Apple is now offering a wide variety of iPhone's. Hopefully there will be distinction between all three iPhone's instead of just three different screen sizes.

The only reason the SE exists is because there are users who love the 4" factor. Giving users the option to choose between 4", 4.7", 5.5" and possibly 5.7" attacks a wide demographic of users. Apple offers 4 different iPads (not in the same year). The iPhone is "failing & struggling" to capture the innovation of the competition who release 5-6 phones a year. If Samsung, LG, Asus... Can release 4-5 phones a year, why can't Apple.

I know the photo isn't the 5.7", but it's mentioned in the report. Also, the base storage is said to be 32Gb in the article, not 64. Honestly I don't know if it's that legit or not, but it's another rumor so I figured I'd share.

Lol, except it was a trolling Apple hater who made it up for no good reason. All leaks must be taken with a grain of salt, but to me this leak looked no different than the others we've seen on the front page.
 
iOS and iPhone have seen better days.

They're still very nice, but competition has passed them by. Profits are still up because of Apple Tax, brand strength is the other advantage. Yet Apple is bound to start feeling the heat as sales inevitably slow at some point.

How Apple responds will be interesting.

Exactly what is the point of selling 5.5 iPhone when there is 5.7 inch iPhone

OK i agree but how much screen difference do think in 5.5 and 5.7 inch is. If they want to add pro features they can just add in 5.5 inch iPhone.so why make a 5.7 iPhone. Just my two cents

I agree that's what they should do, just put them in the 5.5, but most likely they will charge extra for the pro features and increase the screen by 0.2 inches to disntonguish it. I don't think it's the best idea but we'll see.
