1. reopen apple music should play from the last position (like books)
2. instead of the useless stars in albums or playlists i want the „heart“ for my personal favorites
3. sometimes i cant find music (for example george martin, in my life) there should be informations why its not available.
everything else is fine for me

Personally, I wouldn't use the crossfade functionality unless it intelligently turned itself off for albums meant to be played seamlessly with gapless playback. I'll pass on features that only work for *some* of my music that need to be turned off manually for others.

Please, can anyone share screenshots or videos of how Apple music looks on MacOS Sonoma? Is it completely identical, or have there been some ui tweaks? I wish Apple would color-coordinate a page to the album artwork, so it's not just a dark grey or white backdrop when viewing your album or playlist.

One thing I’ve been waiting for, and will probably never get, is the ability to add an Apple Music song to a playlist, without also “syncing” our libraries.

I have a huge library including multiple song versions, specified metadata, and custom cover art. I’d have no problem if I could actually synchronize my media for access across devices, but music “syncing” per Apple screws up everything, replacing my media with what Apple thinks it should be.

So I avoid it like the plague. But in so doing I apparent lose access to useful features like adding an AM song (access to which I’m paying for) to a playlist. I see no reason for tying media “syncing” to adding songs except to coerce customers to use “syncing,” which in turn uses up iCloud storage, which in turn may push users to a more expensive storage plan, which in turn is why I don’t think we’ll ever get this standalone ability.

No obvious differences I can spot (was the sidebar always semi-transparent?), anything in particular you want to see?

The page backdrop is still white or dark grey, unless you use the mini player in full screen, in which case it shows a blend of the album artwork colours.

The music app is confusing. When I am playing a playlist and go down a rabbit hole exploring new songs and artists, it’s impossible to find my way back to the playlist I am playing. There should be a return to the playlist somehow.

Also, the main controls should always be present. It’s weird to lose functionality to see album art. I’d rather have the controls always available

Yes, there are numerous problems. One example is that sometimes the > at the end of a row of albums does nothing, in other cases it presents more albums. Simple issues which should have been fixed years ago. But as long as the newest hoodlum rapper with a name starting with Lil is highlighted, Tim Cook thinks all is well in Apple Music land.

That sucks. I don't understand why they destroyed their beautiful UI. Remember iTunes 5-6 years ago, when you clicked on an album/playlist and it would expand with this beautiful blurred backdrop matching the color of the artwork? At least they could try to make the macOS and ios UI more similar.

Apple can put lipstick on the Music pig all day long. But it’s still a pig. It’s like an overstuffed Fisher-Price version of streaming. Start improvements by making it play when you press the button. It’s pathetic. I left Spotify and hopped over and then ran back again. Aside from Joe Rogan, I love everything about Spotify so much more. I sold my soul to Apple long ago, but this app is a stinker.

Well, it took Apple long enough to upgrade the Crossfade that never worked even when you adjust the timing when it should have crossfaded. Funny that it worked on iTunes but once it became music Apple totally ignored one of the most notable features.

iTunes was such an iconic name. They should've stayed with that name, and just add the subscription on top of it.
