I just read this article that explains 5 reasons to skip the iphone 5:

http://www.polarfrogdigital.com/5-reasons-to-skip-the-iphone-5/

They do have some very valid points in there that makes me think again about purchasing my iPhone 5, or just sticking with my current iPhone 4S. I have a Bose home cinema system that has an iPhone 30 pins dock connector, and my carkit also uses that one. If I would want to keep use these systems, I'd have to buy 2 adaptors at 30$ a piece, which will add up if you need to transform all your old connectors..

What do you think about these reasons? Are they valid or will you buy the phone anyways?

Those reasons aren't very compelling. And did you write that article?

OP is from Netherlands and the site owner is from Netherlands! Hmmm! OP, good try!

These can also be arguments for switching to OTHER phones:

1.) Screen size -- other phones could be too big for normal-to-small hands

2.) No other phone use either size connector so existing docks and chargers cannot work. However, Apple has 30-pin to Lightning adapters that will make these existing devices more compatible.

3.) Cost should never be an issue for any phone. If you cannot afford a phone, you should be looking at a "dumb" phone or no phone at all.

4.) Software can be an argument for any phone. Facebook integration is not important for all users, i.e., my son who is under the legal age for a facebook account. Also, you could say that iOS and Android doesn't have a Microsoft Office software suite or integration.

5.) Really? NFC? That is an argument for NOT getting a phone. I think can be piggy backed on cost. If a phone has NFC, the cost will be higher than a phone without. Also, how many places of business or other instances do you come across where you NEED the functionality of NFC? Probably very few places right now. Will Apple support NFC at some point? Probably, just like they now support LTE, but it will be when costs are at a reasonable cost and availability is more wide spread so more purchasers can benefit from the option.

This is just my thought. I feel there are arguments for ALL purchases. (refrigerators -- why do we need water or ice dispensers in the door? Cameras -- Why do we have consumer cameras with such large mexapixel ranges? How many people actually print out billboard sized prints? 6-8 megapixel should suffice 99% most people.)
