sorry not near my computer right now. Using my phone. If someone wants I can email the screenshots from my phone andthey can post it otherwise I'll post them later on tonight or early tommorow

I was hearing the GMail didn't on the iPhone work so you had to go online to see your mail. Is this new to 2.0 or have you always been able to add a GMail account?

Thanks for the pics.

Thanks for the pics.

My girlfriend has her GMail account on her current iPhone, as well as her school's .edu account. Both accounts are managed through the iPhone's native "Mail" app.

So yes, GMail works on the iPhone, very well actually.

I don't think I will like the new portrait video feature.

I really don't like how when in Safari the orientation of the phone automatically changes (I wish there was an option to switch it or something). I like to use my iPhone while lying in bed on my side and it always rotates when I don't want it to!

saving pictures off the internet:eek: THIS is one feature ive been waiting for!

What is the "Fetch New Data" setting?

I believe it's what Apple mentioned at the keynote speech as a way developers can get around the limitation where they can't have their apps running in the background. Instead, the developer can setup a server to push data to the iPhone: to pop up a message on the screen, put an alert symbol/number by an icon, and/or make a noise. This is how a developer could make a chat client which acts like it is running in the background, when it really isn't, by setting up a "go-between" server between the iPhone and the real chat server.

According to the text, that setting lets you set a periodic check for that data rather than constant checking for pushed data, to save battery life. And apparently, apps can be designed for that rather than a true push as well.

NEW PICS JUST ADDED.

any requests let me know

Podcasts - do they display the podcast description?

On a regular iPod you can hit the select button a couple of times and you'll be presented with a simple black-on-white text display of the description of the podcast.

I was hoping Apple would give us a similar function where it's displayed in a translucent layer over the album art similar to the way lyrics are displayed but so far no dice.

You need to put the text from the podcast description into the lyrics field to see what the podcast is about on the iPhone and iPod touch.

It's a little thing but it's important to me.

No, See pictures above i posted a pic of it.

Also What The post above me by iTEEN just said. In the new firmware clicking home and top power button at same time takes a screenshot

Yes, and that is what I was basing my theory on, the text on that screen. What do you think it's for if it's not for that?

No. I would post more screenshots of it but its too much personal info and email stuff.

What it is, is that for email contacts and callendars you get to choose how often new data is sent to your phone. (i'm almost positive it's for mobileme)
