I personally own 6.

iPod Shuffle, MBA, Thunderbolt Display, iPhone 4S, iPad 3rd gen, airport extreme.

My family also has an iPod Touch, an original iPad, and they are picking up 2-3 iPhones this week as well.

You'd be surprised how many people don't have mp3 players, and how many are still using old Zunes and the like.

Zune was getting <1% market share while iPod was getting 75%.

So people are using the Zune? Not exactly.

Agreed. Poll of 836 Americans? Give me a break.
Also note that in my experience, a surprising number of people think that "iPod" and "Mac" are company names, and may not immediately associate Apple with these products for some reason.

That sample size is pretty typical for these sorts of polls.

It may be a tipical sample size for this type of surveys, but I don't believe it provides a very accurate picture. 836 people interviewed out of 300 million in the USA? I'll say that's far from target.

That chart can't be right. I have 5 *on* me, and I don't know a single person that doesn't have at least one apple product. In our house (3 kids), there are at least 20 in use. 5 * (iphone+macbook) + 3*ipad + 2*ipod + 3*appleTV + 2*iMac, and probably some stuff I can't think of.

Oh and 1 Amazon Kindle.

I assume they mean major products like iPod/iPhone/computer/iPad, not monitors and so forth.

We're probably all beyond this chart. I own more than 5.

Not very probable. I own a MacBook Pro. That's it. Oh, I also have a very old iPod mini, but that doesn't count because it doesn't work anymore.

Like you, I also flunked out of high school. I agree with you that one would definitely need at least 200 million in a poll to get legit numbers.

Had to think about it....two years ago we had 2, an iPod 5G Video and an iPhone 3G.

Now we have 10. I included the airport extreme and the airport express in that (the express is my extender and summertime airplay device)

But even more importantly two years ago we had two PCs, one blackberry, and one nokia. Now we have none of those.

I started it with my family with a ipod back before they were in color, I have no idea of the version. I wanted a computer but could never afford one. My first iMac was before intel and it still works but I gave it away. In my home I have a Mac Pro, Mac mini, Macbook Pro, iPad2, ATV2 (2), iPhone4 but this is after I given my older products to family members. My brother has my iPad1, my mother has my Blackbook. All my family now have iPhones and iPads.

Sporting an Apple logo means one is rich, successful, intelligent, good looking and highly regarded.

Kinda surprising. I would've thought that with the iPod's domination of the MP3 player market, the number would be quite higher.

I am glad I am not the one one who thought this. Only 51% when you consider their domance in the mp3 player market and a large chunk of the smart phone market.

I personally have:

2Mac book pros, 27inch thunderbolt display, iPhone, iphone3g, iPhone3gs,iPhone 4, iphone4s, iPad, ipad2,ipad3, airport extreme, airport express, apple tv(2nd generation), iPod classic 80gig, if this counts I also have a magic mouse, magic track pad, and the wireless keyboard and I also use the apple rechargeable batteries. I think I have an addiction :D

We could probably do a pretty good poll here to breakdown that 9%. There are obviously a lot of folks with many more than 5 Apple products.

My two year old has an iPad ,I have 11apple products in my house spread across four people that's because apple makes quality products that just work!!!!!

I wonder how many Swiss households have apple products. I think we are an Apple country. I was very happy we belonged to the first group of countries to receive the new iPad (although we only have a 7 mio population).

apple products are kind of a hobby for me, just something that can put a smile on my face. 13-15 main products in use and counting.

I have 13 total, not counting input devices. First was an iPod color (or photo or whatever they called it.) Then an Apple TV, then an iPhone....

Today:

2 MBP's in daily use
1 iMac in daily use
2 iPhone 4 in daily use
1 Airport Extreme Base in daily use
2 AppleTV's used periodically
1 iPad 1 in regular use by my 3 year old
1 Mac Mini that was bought as a hobby project for HTPC and never took off
1 iPhone 1 that is retired
1 iPod (my first) that is retired
1 iPod Nano that I won and has never been used

I'll be adding another AppleTV when I get my basement finished. Otherwise I don't see much more expansion. Anxious to upgrade the iPhones.

Former Wintard Apple hater here.
It all started with a 60Gb iPod Classic

then an iPhone 3gs

then a 13"MB

then more ipods, 2 iPad2 2 New iPads 15MBP 13MBA Mac Mini (server)

6 app store apps

And lots of AAPL Calls later I am definitely a fan.

All paid and bought for with money made on Apple. Not too shabby.

I got my first Apple product in 1982. Now our household has 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, 4 Macbook Pros, 1 iMac, 2 iPod Touches, 2 iPod Minis, 3 Apple Tv's, 2 AirPort Extremes, 2 AirPort Expresses, 1 mac mini, and a ton of other accessories.

I also bought stock in 1997 so I can afford all of this stuff!

Love it. Keep it coming Apple!!!
