Lets start a list of times that different stores throughout the country are planning to open on 11th July. If you ring them they will let you know.

Most stores are opening at 7:02, 8:02 or 9:00 on Friday.

If you could format it as City, Location - H:MM (Source)

Where source is Staff or Poster. This will help people see how accurate the information is.

I will start it off:
  • Bluewater (2 stores) - 8:02
  • Brighton, Western Road - 8:02 (Staff)
  • Carlisle, Scotch Street - 8:02 (Poster)
  • Essex, Lakeside Shopping Centre - 8:02 (Staff)
  • Hemel Hempstead - 7:02 (Staff)
  • Leamington Spa - 8.02 (Poster)
  • Livingston 8:02
  • Manchester, Arndale - 8:02 (Poster)
  • Manchester, Market Street - 10:00
  • Manchester, Salford Lowry Centre - 10:00
  • Manchester, Trafford Centre - 8:02 (Hopefully)
  • Manchester Fort - 7:00 or 8:00 (Staff)
  • Nottingham Centre (2 stores) - 7:02 or 8:02
  • Sittingbourne - 8:02
  • Stockport - 9:00
  • Widnes Town Center - 9:00 (Staff)

O2 Stockport 9:00 (manager)
O2 Manchester Market Street 10:00 (staff, but didn't look clueful)
O2 Manchester Arndale Unknown (refused to tell me!)

Ok - does the OP really want to collate 100+ times?

Because the easy rule of thumb is - if it's an O2 store not within a shopping centre etc, it's very likely to be open at 7.02am. If its a shop within a shopping centre, it's likely it'll be open around when the shopping centre opens for a Friday...

I don't mind, and this rule of thumb doesn't work. The Brighton store is outside a shopping centre and it's 8:02, the Manchester one sounds like its outside and its 10:00. Your rule doesn't work, and this saves others from phoning up.

My own small sample shows that's simply not true.

The stores will open when they want to - and that's dependent on whether they can get the staff in early, whether they actually want to open early, etc. Being inside a shopping centre is only one variable.

A list would be very valuable - I can't get to all the stores myself and if there's one within a short enough drive that is opening earlier than the local ones I'll go there.

I expect it'll have to be a continuously updated list too, because the stores don't seem too sure themselves right now (Stockport is, but that's inside an enclosed area so its opening is slightly restricted).

O2 Manchester Arndale 8.02am (well thats what it says on the posters this afters...)

That wasn't there when I went in this afternoon. b...ards. They could have just told me that.

Must have been about 4ish (just before that downpour!).

They all had iphone t-shirts on, I asked the usual 16Gb?, white?, PAYG? Qs and recieved the usual yes should do. Muppets...

I was there about 2. Looked at the posters but they were the generic '11th' ones (unless I was *really* being unobservant this afternoon).

3 muppets stood around a blue box with T shirts on. 1 of those was the one that said the opening time was "secret".

That's early enough I can get into town before it's busy and sit in Starbucks for half an hour before joining the queue.

Tomato is just being awkward and missed a whole bunch of them. Where's Dundee for example?

Given that large towns seem to have at least two of them, he probably missed a lot.

I'm assuming that most people here know where their local O2 is and can post local information.. a complete list of O2 stores isn't really needed unless someone is prepared to sit there with a phone and a list and call every single one of them (which would be a great service to mankind!).

O2 staff haven't got a Scooby Doo

Last week they advised me you could pre-register for the iphones from 4 July onwards. Today when I went in they said that this wasn't now happening. When I asked what time they were opening 11 July I was told that they thought it was 07.02 but that they weren't sure. When I enquired about stock they again said that they didn't know what they would get or how much. My local CW advised me they aren't opening until 09.00 because they're located in a mall. So reality guys - O2 staff just don't have a clue what's going on or they are on notice to face the sack if they spill the beans. I'm getting so frustrated with the lack of information that I'm wondering if it's all worth it.

Which stores were these times for? We can always use more for the list :p

Sure, you have to take anything that O2 staff say with a pinch of salt, and I share your frustration.. but I would hope by now that the opening times would have started to firm up a bit.

Let's not kid ourselves here. We could all be patient, and wait until Thursday and find out. But the rabid hunt for information, rumor mongering and speculation is all part of the fun.

If you want to start cussing people for this type of posting, then maybe mac RUMORS isn't your thing.

Back to the topic at hand.

Manchester - Salford Lowry Centre - 02 opens at 10:00

Manchester Fort - The guy was unsure whether it would be 7 or 8 and suggested that I phone back on Thursday

Geez guys - I wasn't trying to be awkward - I gave what I could O2 wise to you, giving you address so you could easily within this thread find maybe a store near you as simply as Ctrl=F or Apple-F and your town. I rechecked via Google, and there wree a lot more . Probably either out of date data for Yell, or a limit on results perhaps. Anyhow, taken down as per grumblings.
If you know a better list of O2 stores, by all means chip in, but it ain't easily available on the O2.co.uk website...
Seeing at Yell says there are 8 Scottish stores, and 91 English ones, i'd imagine most are covered.
If this were a more wikiable site, we could do what the OP wants. As it stands, it's a bit harder, unless we all want to move this thread into a Guide.
I'd imagine a central list would be easier - Any one of the people on this thread could say they want to turn their post into an updated list, if they have the time... I'd be happy to, but to be honest, it's easier to do on the 1st post, which is the OP's. The list currently standing at a dozen or so stores:

Brighton, Western Road - 8:00 (Staff)
Carlisle, Scotch Street - 8:02 (poster)
Essex, Lakeside Shopping Centre - 8:00 (Manager)
Hemel Hempstead - 7:02
Kent, Bluewater (2 stores) - 8:02
Leamington Spa - 8.02 (Poster)
Livingston - 8:02
London, Holburn - 7:02 (Manager)
Manchester, Arndale - 8:02 (Poster)
Manchester Fort - 7:00 or 8:00 (Staff)
Manchester, Market Street - 10:00 (staff)
Manchester, Salford Lowry Centre - 10:00
Leamington Spa - 8:00 (Poster)
Newcastle, Staffs - 7:02 (Manager)
Nottingham Centre (2 stores) - 7:02 or 8:02
Portsmouth, Commercial Road - 7:02
Sittingbourne - 8:02
Stockport - 9:00 (manager)
Widnes Town Center - 7:02

I take back my rule of thumb for now ;)

I thought it was "a grain of salt". Is the "pinch" a UK thing?
