5870 1GB in an 08 Mac Pro possible?

GPU Review says the HD 5870 noise level is "loud" while the noise level for the 2600 XT is "moderate."

I've never used a third party cooler but I've heard they can be the way to go.
But you should know since you used the Zalman.

haha, I got a bit scared there, thought you quoted me and wondered how you knew that I once had a Zalman on a 6600gt graphic card. paid a geeky friend to do it for me, he's moved away so don't know who I would ask this time. might consider doing it myself, it sure made the card cooler and more quiet.
