It probably wouldn't be too bad, but knowing apple, they will not allow you to downgrade the ios back to 7 or 8. So in 2 years when we have ios 9, you decide to upgrade and it slows down your machine considerably. Then apple pulls the downgrade so you are stuck with it. Effectively making your phone worse than it actually is which frustrates you and inspires you to cave in and buy the newest iphone.

Most technology isn't. Companies are always working on the next technology, but this is without a doubt repacked year old equipment.

Yes everyone knows by now that the 5C has Innards of the 5, but there's not anyone that going to sit and tell me that the iPhone isn't a fast monster. As a matter of fact you could probably put it up against almost any android phone and it's probably on par with "flagship" devices if not better. It's a beast still... The iPhone 5C is as well. The phone is super fast and on iOS 7 when doing a side by side comparison with the 5S the difference is almost unnoticeable. Will the difference be noticeable a year from now? Yeah I'm sure when apps optimize for 64-bit, but it's a ways away and right now today ... The iPhone 5 and. 5C are both GREAT phones.

The iphone 5s has the newest chip on the block but that will soon be passed by. Such is the technology world.

The biggest issue with app compatibility in the future was RAM. That's why 3G was bad on 4.0 the 5c has the same amount of ram as the 5s, so it'll be supported for at least 2 years.

The iPad 2 had the same internals as the iPhone 4S and new iPod and iPad mini.

I have a feeling that we will all be okay and have nothing to worry about. Apple is good at software optimization.

If you check out AnandTech's review of the 5s and the benchmarks they did, outside of the Moto X, there are very few, if any, non flagship Android devices that out score the 5C.

in the uk the price difference on contract is only £50 so it'd be foolish to not save the extra £50 for the upfront price and just get the 5s.
