We should be able to revert back to iOS 18 icons, bypassing the overly reflective edges that are unnecessary and an aesthetic nightmare.
They are less obnoxious with reduce transperency+reduce motion+increase contrast+dark mode+careful wallpaper choice+moving address bar to top option for safari... but the kindy scissor jaggies still remains (albeit locked on the corners) for icons and widgets on big screens.

Apple went the wrong way, they should have kept the old design but allowed full theming instead. Want vista, apply a glass theme. Want olde style skuemorphic, just apply a 90's theme. A new theme section on app store so graphics artists can rake it in, too.

Major issue with the swipe to camera gesture was when using a flashlight when my phone was on the lock screen. Just a slight touch of the screen would turn it off.

I bought a certified refurbished M4 iPad Pro (foolishly thinking it would still have iPad OS 18) and tried all of that on latest beta and the icons still looked terrible compared to my M1 iPad running OS 18. I returned the M4 refurb iPad and bought one on eBay that still had the old software on it. I am completely liquid glass-free, thank the Lord Jesus Christ.

Honest question - why does it matter if someone takes a few pictures with your phone if you happen to misplace it? They can’t see the photos. Just doesn’t seem like an issue to be concerned with.
Honest response- it's this type of subservient behavior that empowers and further emboldens Apple to flaunt their dominance over the user base.

Kind of like the comment often seen in an Apple forum discussing a new product, the Apple devotees say "just take my money".

Apple has worked diligently to establish influence, power and control which has led them to force feed features that many simply don't want and didn't ask for. It’s quite the display of dominance.

Slide to stop alarm will be useful to prevent accidental stoppage. Also swiping to change music is beneficial. Like the Liquid Glass very much, will definitely use clear for Liquid Glass, and I am happy to see better control for those who would like to tone it down.

You can add [Silence Unknown Callers] via the shortcuts app to control center or the lock screen.
Shortcuts is your friend (with Google).
Yes, and I have done so; but the shortcut on Control Center doesn't indicate whether Silence Unknown Callers is toggled on or off. If there were a way to do this, I would be extremely grateful for any and all suggestions.

No... I fully support Apple adding more customization if people don't want the feature. Not sure what you're on about. I'm just wondering why it's an issue for someone to take some photos with your phone.

Not everything is meant to be understood.

For the first time, you can now disable the Lock Screen's swipe-to-open-camera gesture. In the Settings app, tap Camera, scroll down, and toggle off the switch next to "Lock Screen Swipe to Open Camera"

I hope some day there will be no useless Lockscreen at all. FaceID unlock and i’m on my Homescreen witout having to swipe away the useless Lockscreen every ***** time. 😣Most useless and ancient relict from early iOS history.

next time i will upgrade my phone in january and not upgrade to new ios on the old phone .. that way all the bugs will be sorted out and i can enjoy the phone ... the 17 pro with ios 26 day one was not a great experience ..

I’d like to know release number when I be able
  1. to move cursor on edit filed by just tapping destination (it does anything but that right now)
  2. Have an honor to add numeric keyboard over letters on the huge pro max screen
  3. Dismiss multiple notifications without hard training my finger
  4. Be able to hide keyboard in all apps, not only those that were hysterically tested by their developers
  5. Multitask in real, by not having my apps closed aggressively while I am switching few apps (16 pro max guy here - hope it solved on 17th 12gb, but not sure)
  6. Be able to record phone calls without notification. And not being oppressed by huge Apple’s marketing machine which mentions few states’ laws, being silent on other states. Further gaslighting on preserving privacy, while selling paid apps bypassing this protection on own appstore. Shying out on billions of 10$ cheap phones able to record you silently, while you on your 1K$ pro max cannot afford it even for cases where this is life-saving. (Yes, even German law that criminalizes call recording will acquit you if this is emergency conditions, but sorry if you iPhone owner - Tim Cook is on the stalker’s side)

If you don't like the change, you can revert the alarm interface back to the previous Stop button, thanks to a new "Prefer Single-Touch Actions" toggle in Settings ➝ Accessibility ➝ Touch.
Will this cause the slide to answer call and slide to power off actions to change as well?
