6 Plus battery life: excellent

Well, after a week and a half with the phone, this is what I'm getting battery wise. Don't really know if I'm too impressed with it. Plus the iPhone 6+ seems to stutter a lot, especially when scrolling on apps like Alien Blue, or Trailers. Where my friend's 6 is a lot smoother. I'm thinking about going back and exchanging for the 6. The big screen is nice but not impressed with the performance of the 6+

I'm not saying that will help, Its just some people say restoring from an iCloud backup is bad for battery life, but I'm not having any issues.

i am only afraid of my music. i hate syncing it again. and moreover my Frequent locations are always deleted when i restore.

Outrageous numbers, never got anything close to this on my 6+.

It is excellent. I went out last night for new year. Took about 1,000 plus pictures, videos, slow mo etc. I was on social media a lot and sending messages etc, web browsing, used the navigation, playing some games. The battery lasted me all through that, with continuous use for about 8 hours. By the next morning I'm still sitting here with 20 % battery life. In contrast my OH who uses the note 3 drained his battery about 5 hours into our outing. He put in his spare. which drained before my 6 plus. So my single 6 plus battery outlasted 2 fully charged note 3 batteries and I used my phone more than him because I took the majority of our pics as my camera is better in low light.

I wasn't suggesting it, merely recounting my own standby battery drain. It is higher than in iOS7 in my own experience.

Your experience with Apple products is a typical. Having said that with approximately 100 million new devices in the last few years I can see where there can be some variability, but your experience is not in the bell curve.

I don't by any means have every bug that people mention on these forums, or I certainly don't notice them all anyway.
I'm quite tech-savvy though, do clean installs and have owned iPhones for years....so I can't see how the bugs that I do experience are unique to myself. I really don't believe that there are bug-free iPhones out there in the wild.

0.5% every hour in airplane mode?? Thats atrocious, clearly something is wrong with your device then or you have some rogue app in the background or so. My 6 Plus doesnt even drain 1% over night while sleeping on cellular and wifi(7-8 hours of rest every night)

I find standby time to be absolutely incredible on the Plus and extremely extremely good.

0.5% drain every hour on airplane mode is awful, that would mean your only getting 100 hours of standby time max which is far far off the mark from normal.

Are you on 8.1.2?

Are you on 8.1.2?

Yup. And Also every night where I sleep in my room, the cellular service isnt that great (only 1-2 bars of service too) and still extremely good standby battery time, it'll go down either 0-1% a night the most, and i been eyeing this and seeing this every single night just out of curiousity. According to your standby calculations, your only getting about 100 hours of standby ONLY in airplane mode and that you would get even less when radios are on, that is very very far off from the regular standby numbers Apple gives. my phone with all radios on wont drain in 100 hours if i dont use it as like I said my phone doesnt even go down a percent when I am sleeping.

I would say that maybe our settings differ slightly but your having 0.5% battery drain every hour in airplane mode which is just crazy

1% battery drain for you in airplane mode = in 2 hours, that equals 100 hours your 6 Plus is dead from a full charge on standby in airplane mode with screen off. Defitnetly something wrong there

The 1% drain you're experiencing possibly isn't the full story though. I find that if I charge my phone fully and then start using it immediately, then 1hr 40mins of usage time for the first 10% of battery life is the norm. If however my phone is left for umpteen hours on standby and the battery level is at say 98%, my phone will drop to 90% much quicker than it would if I had been using it since 100% and was at 98% when the test started...if you catch my drift? From 98% to 90% having been on standby for hours drops much quicker to 90% than 98% to 90% if I've been using it immediately after a full charge. I'm perhaps not making sense here but what I'm getting at is that the battery meter isn't all that accurate. My phone will still read 98-99% having been on standby for 7 hours in airplane mode, but it will plummet to 90% much quicker when I start using it. Therefore thinking that it only lost 1-2% overnight is erroneous.

I calibrate my battery meter once in a while, and also restart my phone once a day which further enhances and improves battery accuracy and calibration.

And two, i dont alway go to sleep with a 100% charged phone, sometimes its at 57% or so and such, and every single night i monitor my battery level right before i go to sleep and when i wake up and consistently it only drains 0-1-2% the MOST in a nights rest with radios on and notifications on and all that good stuff

Your standby times are not normal at all. 0.5% battery drain per hour in airplane mode is absolutely atrocious and its pretty clear you may have a togue app/rogue process in the background that is doing that to your device

I dont experience random drops of battery life like that as you say and i dont notice my battery dropping at certain percentage points faster then others, my battery is very consistent in what it show and i dont suffer a "faster drain" at "90%-80%" like your claiming.

Like i said 0.5% battery drain per hour in airplane mode is just atrocious as i am getting better standby time with no airplane mode on then your device in airplane mode

Its not errenous at all and your reported numbers are worse then a iPhone 5 standby time.

Your phone draining 4% overnight in airplane mode is awful and is not normal at all

I'm waiting impatiently for iOS8.1.3 to arrive, then I'll do another laborious clean install and set up as new etc.#

Think about it lol your phone then on average drains about 10-12% in airplane mode in a whole 24 hours, defitnetly something off there. Lol reminds me of my old Galaxy S4 with a extended 2800 mAh battery (+200 mAh increase from stock) would drain pretty bad at night ..And yeah 8.1.3 i feel like will be a decent bug fixer actually since it's taking a little extra time to release it and also Apple retail employees now getting iOS versions earlier to test and report back to Apple

I have to agree the battery is the best. Did not plug it in before I went to bed and when I woke up it still had more than enough to get through another day. Had 20% remaining after TWO days!

No doubt the best!:)

How? I lose about 10% every night!

Notifications expect for the score, Twitter, Instagram, turned off, push email turned off, iCloud and Calendar push off. Location services off. Bluetooth off, brightness low. I also reset settings and calibrated the battery. Background app refresh off.

No idea what's wrong with my iPhone. I restored it and put the iCloud backup. Still it's horrible.

Don't see what's wrong with that really. You seem on course for 9 hours, and with lots of Facebooking as the reason you don't get more. 8.1.2 robs me of an hour or more, so hopefully 8.1.3 will give you an extra hour.

9 hours is because I was listening to music. And I have seen people stats much higher than that. Should I turn off location for Facebook. Even using Safari just makes the percentage drop within minutes
