I thought the shortage was mainly for the iPhone 6+...but it seems like there is a shortage on the iPhone 6 64gb...trying to get my mom the 64GB iPhone 6 Silver/ or gold but everywhere I checked they are out...the only ones they have are the 16GB which is probably the most useless iPhone ever released since the OS takes 1/3 of the capacity.

Apple dropped the ball with the 16Gb because nobody wants it!

Apple Store had couple 128GB available for the 6 for AT&T, but she will not need that much space and the extra $100 is truly not worth it for her.

I am wondering when we will see a shipment increase for the 64GB..

You know who wants the 16GB? People who can't or don't want to pay $299.99 for a phone. Not everyone wants what you want.

16GB was exclusively a business decision. Apple doesn't want to make you save money, that's why they made this. With this way, many people pay more for the 64GB model, which I will do the same in couple weeks.

The same upselling strategy is certainly going to work on me too. Those bastardos lol

Seems to be a very popular model and probably will take time for supply to catch up with demand

I always lol when I see the "some people don't need a lot of storage, so 16gb is perfect for them" or the "Apple is giving us 64gb for the price of 32!!! You should be grateful". Like others have said, it was nothing more than a business decision to increase the amount of people who go to the $299 model over the $199 one. At it worked great. But anyway...

Has anyone here tried istocknow.com? It claims that they consistently update the site with various stores' stocks of iPhone 6's and 6+'s. They show every Apple store and their supposed stock, along with other iPhone-selling stores like Target and Radioshack. Not sure how accurate it is, but it might be something to check out.

These are not mutually exclusive, and are both in fact true. Two of the four iphone users in my household have no need for more than 16GB. Not much music, one or two small games, three or four other small apps, most usage is to use the phone to communicate with others via social media or (heaven forbid!) talking to them. :)

As for me, had 32GB been the lowest I'd have just got that. Instead I ponied up for the 64 because for my usage 16 is way too small. So Apple definitely got an extra $100 by keeping the bottom end at 16...

It's pretty good, but you have to read the "Read This" pieces for BestBuy and Target. Apple store info is generally solid, but realize the part of the Apple site they scrape (the page where you select the model/config/etc) isn't always as up to date as the part where you select the pickup store during checkout. Plus remember you may be competing with twenty other people going after the very same stock at the same store; the guy who has the phone already in his cart and is one click from checkout is going to smoke you every time.

I didn't pay for expedited shipping. In fact, I didn't see any shipping options at all. I ordered late afternoon on 10/21 and as of this morning it's sitting at UPS waiting for me to come pick it up. Shipped from Mount Juliet TN too, not China. *shrug*

Differences perhaps are that (a) I ordered a leather case along with the phone, (b) I started out via ShopDiscover's link to apple.com in order to capture 5% cash back on Discover, and I ordered a full price T-Mobile ip6 SG 64GB. I don't know.

Did you notice the exclusions on ShopDiscover when ordering your iPhone6? I want to order one via ShopDiscover buy it lists iPhone 6 and 6+ as exclusions from cashback bonus :(

Yes, I think it is excluded from shopdiscover, but I think you can still get the 5% for the quarterly bonus.

AFAIK it wasn't there for the 6 when I ordered, only the plus. Unless I misread something?

Yes, and I've already seen the 5% show up. I'll give them a little more time before asking about the ShopDiscover and submitting my screenshots. Attached is from October 21st. Anyone see the iphone6 excluded? Am I missing seeing it?

Yes, I'll get the quarterly bonus but it'd be sweet to get 10% (actually 11 considering the always 1% of the It Card) :D

I think you've been lucky then. I've been checking Shopdiscover since iPhone 6 announced. They were excluded at first but then were removed from the exclusion list for a few weeks. Now that I am finally done with my previous contract, they are again listed as exclusions :(

And this is why I went with the 128GB iPhone 6.... :D and I traded in my old iPhone 4 sitting in my drawer and got $200 back so I got a 128GB iPhone 6 for the price of the base model...Verizon store manager said I was the first person to grab an old phone to trade in vs their current phone...

64gb is most likely the most popular size as for a shortage lets just say that it's not an easy model to find be it an Apple Store , best buy, ATT , verizon or sprint

AT&T stores around me have not had any v6 iphones for over a month. So I started checking the apple store and noticed a pattern
for them in my area. So based on stores availability in my area I took a chance and went Friday at open. Got a 6+ 64g Space Gray.
I ask different reps and all said this model is the hottest.

Its a nice fresh one!

After whining (yes I do from time to time) to the AT&T salesperson about wanting a 6+ 128, he said, rather hush hush, that they hadn't had a 6+ in since the first day they were available. He doubted that they would get any in 'soon' and flat out told me to go to the Apple store.

I signed up for InStockNow, and got an alert that there were 6+ 128's in Chicago, and jumped on and was able to order two of them. The same day, a friend of a friend of mine posted a picture to their FB showing the really long line out the door and around the block of people waiting for iPhones, and I got two of them...

I found that odd, but hey...

I was talking to the AT&T salesperson while I was in for my MIL getting one of my old phones, and he said that they still had no 6+'s and that they had 'plenty' of 64g 6's. The Target here had them too, with the same story about the 6+.

It seems like Apple and Target aren't spreading the merchandise around far enough...

Yes, it was not excluded for a some time but that changed.:(

I think you've been lucky then.

Resurrecting to follow up on the ShopDiscover part. Looks like my luck held, I received the confirmation emails yesterday for the additional 5% on the two iPhone6's I bought in late October. Total of 10% off thanks to Discover. :D

Anyone else who used this, watch for the emails and the credits.

Yes, I got the ShopDiscover bonus myself, even though iPhone 6 was listed as exclusion at the time of purchase:D

Called every store in my town today...nobody has the 64gb... :( SAD PANDA :(

BTW, Amazon is offering $275 for unlocked iPhones 5 16GB...in gift cards...might go that route.

just call everyday. the at&t store closest to me had 64 the first day i went in. but i wasn't sure if i wanted the plus or not. called the next day and only 16gb. called the day after and they had the 64plus i decided to get. initially when i got to the store i said i had called about an hour ago and they had the phone i wanted. then the girl immediately said no.... and i said again i just called not too long ago. so she went and checked and then was like "oh we must of just gotten them in".

Customers have been backed into a wall and only the 64 is really one that they can use with efficiency.

The 32 would've been the more popular. But you know. Backed into that wall.
