Hi .. Oke first of all great guide! Easy to use and works fine!

I just got my 6750's core on 850 and my memory on 1100  i gave it 1.1v the temprature is max 80 degrees, and average was 76.

I tried to run the Heaven benchmark and it seems to work perfectly! With the standard settings i got 18.0 frames and with the new one 24.8 !!

I'm gonna test some games tomorrow, but i'm proud to have it this high and stable :)

Oke so the main reason for me to overclock was to make Far Cry 3 playable. As you can see 2 post's above this one i clocked it to 850/1100 on 1.1v.

First of all .. for one reason i can't give my GPU more then 1.1v, the ATT Tool just won't let me. And on this settings if i go any further then 850/1100 my system gets artifacts and/or crashes. So i think this is the limit for my system.

Oke now it's time to play games on the 850/1100/1.1. I ran far cry 3 for about one hour, and changed the GPU wile playing, Everytime a little bit more. To have a clear view i started restarted the mission every time so i can see the same FPS on every moment. After all the lower settings worked for 10 minutes i played on the 850/1100 settings for 40 minutes. My system accepted it and i didn't have lags or artifacts. So after 40 minutes of gaming and 30 minutes of benchmarking i think i can say .. IT WORKS :D and my core is still on average of 76 degrees. max on 82.

On the high settings of Far Cry 3 i got 15 FPS insted of 9 without clock.
On Medium settings i got 19 FPS , and before that it was 13.

I'm gonna try to get it even further, but as i said i think this is the limit for my system. Maybe someone has any tips or tricks? I hope this helped some of you! Feel free to ask me more :)

Update:Oke some games won't let me overclock at all. Tried playing GTA4 but it has a fps from 2.. and if i turn my overclock off i get a FPS from 34??

every game i play is on 1920x1080. I know i can set it lower to gain preformance, but i hate to see the edge go mad :p

Hi, what is the best ati catalyst driver version for overclock the 6750M of my macbook pro?
If I install the 12.11 Beta11 all works ok, but when I use MSI Afterburner my desktop flikering when the GPU change automatically clocks (Maybe for power consuption).
When I play the GPU clocks are fixed and I have no issue.
Which driver are you use?

I am using the recent update from ati website. Just look for the drivers page and select MAC graphics :) i don't use the beta .. I thought this could be unstable at some points.

MAC graphics drivers are the original drivers.... With them I can't play with Battlefield 3 and more other games. ;)

I'm using the 13.1 drivers, along with ATI Tray Tools for overclocking, and everything works great

Thanks, do you have the AMD 6750M?
Which version of ATT??
Do you use particular settings for ATT?
Do you use external monitor?
Do you have installed mobility or desktop driver? links?
Thanks for all!

I have the latest version of ATT available from this page
I'm using the settings on the updated first post of this thread, that is, 800 core, 900 mem, 0.955 volts
Not quite an external monitor, but I sometimes use and HDMI cable to play on my TV (52" plasma, 1920x1080)
I'm using the newest drivers, straight from the site, not using catalyst, although I've used catalyst before, with previous versions of the drivers with no problem. Here are the drivers: 13.1 DRIVERS
Enjoy :)

Ok, I will try!
Do you have installed all boot camp 4.0 drivers from disc first?
(sorry for my english!! :D )

Don't worry about it
Yes, I installed all the bootcamp drivers.

There is a problem...
I have formatted and reinstall windows 7 64bit with bootcamp.
1) installed bootcamp 4.0 drivers
2) download the catalyst 13.1 (from your link) and when open it, in the wizard I select "custom installation", then in the checkbox list the driver video is selected and it says "driver already updated"....
Why???

That's a bit odd... Proceed with the installation, overwriting whatever things you already have installed. Then go ahead and give ATT a shot.

Yes, I installed all the bootcamp drivers.

Should Windows 7 64bit is the cause?
When you install win 7, you update it and then install bootcamp driver and then catalyst 13.1???
Is impossible that I have this problems!!

If I overwrite all …. (when the checkbox of video driver says driver already update) the video driver will not update…. and then, battlefield 3 return an error that I have catalyst 11.1 ….
Why?!

Wow, I've never had this happen to me.
Win7 64 isn't the problem since that's what I used before switching to Win8 64. The 11.11 driver IS an issue, since it doesn't like to get updated.
The only thing I tried once that worked was: I downloaded the 13.1 (or the latest update through the 11.11 catalyst), which gets put in your C:/AMD folder. Then, I opened the catalyst installer (from that same folder) and uninstalled the 11.11 catalyst. Finally, I went to the new installer, and ran it, so installing the new drivers (but no catalyst control center).
Try this out, if it doesn't work, then I'm afraid there's nothing else I can do to help you :(

Before 13.1, which versione do you have installed?
Can you post a exactily version of your video driver only?
Tomorrow I will try with windows 8!
Thanks for all! :)

I don't remember exactly which version of the driver I had before, but I had Catalyst 11.11 (which is the control center, not the actual driver.)
Right now I'm on version 8.97.10.6 of the driver (you can check in your computer's device manager, under Display Adapters)

My results:

Impressive..but

This is all very cool.. but it would be way cooler if i could get it to work! I'm running windows 7 x64 with bootcamp drivers 5.0.5033, and I've tryed multiple different mobility catalyst drivers 12.10, 13.1, and 13.2 and none of them have helped me fix my fps problems.

I found out after using GPU-Z and open hardware monitor, that my cores are stuck at 100/150 speeds completely! It only goes up to 75 degrees on load, but it doesn't ramp up the core speeds corresponding to the load. I've tested this with starcraft II (which gives me 15 fps on 1440x900 and medium settings), and a powerful GameCube emulator called 'dolphin' (also pretty GPU intensive).

When I attempt an overclock using this tool, apparently the core's change and it works (according to GPU Z) but technically, it won't because its frozen on the 100/150 clock speeds.

Please help me out guys!!

Drivers, updates and powerplay

So updating from my last post, I identified the issue being a problem with the catalyst drivers and powerplay. With powerplay off, it locks my GPU cores. The 13.1 drivers won't detect my video card. The 13.2 drivers detect the card but give screen glitches/tears when overclocking and can't disable powerplay so overclocking isn't viable. The 13.3 drivers released today, won't detect my HD 6750 so they are worthless.

12.8 drivers are the only one that worked flawlessly for me, but it doesn't contain the performance updates from many new games. I'm trying the latest 12.x series beta's and seeing how close i can get to 13.x with problem-free overclocking abilities!

13.1 drivers

I really want to get the 13.1 drivers running if possible. Did anybody use any tricks to get it to recognize the HD 6750? It won't seem to find mine.
