Will Apple exchange my iPhone 3G for stuck pixels ( more than 4 )?

Thanks
It depends on the Genuis and your interaction. As suggested, just make an appointment online and when you get to the store consider asking or explaining your problem but don't demand a replacement. It works wonders. Have you checked your liquide submersion sensors to make sure that they are not tripped? It will save you a lot of time, if you check first.

Do you have any plans to Unlock or if your phone is unlocked then you might want to reconsider as the refurbished iPhone 3G may come with OS 2.2.1 and Baseband 2.30, this baseband is not currenly software unlockable.

Yes, in fact I got mine exchanged for just one stuck pixel.

WEll i went today and the "genius" said that stuck and dead pixels are not defects and that he can't exchange it.. so ill just deal with it!

You can always make another appointment and try again with someone else. Sometimes the people there are in a nice mood, sometimes not, or you just get a jerk :)

You should definitely NOT have to deal with it. Stuck/dead pixels are most certainly a manufacturing defect and if people have been able to replace phone after phone for dust under the screen there's no reason they can't switch yours out. You could call up Apple and do an advanced replacement, they have yet to say "no" to me. Even the Apple Store has been pretty good, I've had two phones swapped out for screen defects that they either couldn't see or were "within spec". They told me I couldn't keep swapping them out for these problems but they did it anyway. Either talk to somebody else at your local Apple Store or call 1-800-MY-IPHONE and they'll get you hooked up.

Yeah man, few companies have a dead pixel policy, no company has any sort of stuck pixel policy

It might resolve itself, just learn to live with it

That's just sad

You would exchange a perfectly working iPhone for a single stuck pixel

You're going to die early from stress/anxiety with that kind of mindset

You're joking, right? Just being sarcastic?

Of course they will. You're not spending thousands of dollars locked into a two year contract for a defective POS. That would be absurd.

I'm on iPhone number six now - two of my five replacements were due to small amounts of dust under the glass. DUST, which was barely visible. If I had a legitimate problem like you and they refused to help, I'd raise hell. In fact, I simply would not leave the store without a new phone. Period.

^I'd hardly call one stuck pixel a reason to call a phone a POS. Sure, you pay hundreds for a device and thousands over time for the contract, but really? One stuck pixel doesn't mean the phone is a POS.

I have quite a few dead pixels on my screen, sadly Im about 3 months out of warrently so I guess I will have to just deal with it, lol

Perhaps, but then again we're not talking about a single, solitary stuck pixel. The OP has 'more than four' stuck pixels. More than four!! Even the most fervent Apple sheep would have to agree that 4+ dead/stuck pixels on a device with a 3.5-inch display is ludicrous. A quick Google search reveals that most (if not all) manufacturers will replace a monitor with four dead pixels. And those are large (15-inch and greater) desktop monitors, where four dead pixels would be much less obvious than on a tiny little cell phone display.

Use your brains, people. The OP has a valid complaint, and Apple is obligated to take care of the problem as long as the iPhone is still under warranty. End of story.

Cameras can get "stuck/dead" pixels too on their preview screens! There is a way to revive them. It's a pity no none has developed an app to do this - surely not beyond the bounds of possibility?

What, you mean like this one? There are also free web-apps that do the same thing, IIRC. But these "apps" don't always work - in my experience (PSP and two DS Lites) it only worked 50% of the time. YMMV.

There is no screen policy right now for the iPhone. Get that thing exchanged. I exchanged my original iPhone with dead pixels for a new one with no issues.

dead pixel =/= to stuck pixel

Mavis I wasn't being sarcastic..

I saw something like that happen at the Apple Store near me. Didn't work out well for the customer at all. After about 30 seconds of him raising hell, mall security escorted him right out, as apparently there is no right that allows you to stay on private property after being asked to leave. (Maybe things are different in Japan?) YMMV

GOD I would pay money to see that

I had my iPhone replaced for a speck of dust under the screen. If you're still under warranty, make an appointment at the Genius bar, and show them your phone, and they will most likely replace it.
