Had some other issues so decided to go full DFU and start afresh, hard to say if that's fixed it this early, but I expect most-all of my weird crashes were due to upgrading fw from 4S-5-5S-6-6S .. Not surprising !

That was the first sign of trouble, during upgrade I thought it was going to catch fire..

Anyone know if Heat could damage the actuator vibrate thing? Since 9.1 the Peek feels ok but Pop and other stronger vibrate is "all janky like the 6/ previous phones" in feel. Weird!

just noticed my iPad Mini 2 is really, really hot as well.. >:[

6S seems "about 3x as fast" since i fully nuked it, it is definitely not getting as hot, but battery still not good at all; will post back in a week as its only been about 22 hours since it started running/counting the battery stats

Just noticed my 6s+ getting pretty hot last night while watching Netflix. Never happened on 9.0.2.

Just rebooted mine... I was reading this site (using tapatalk) and suddenly felt that the upper part of the phone is quite warm (just below the cam). Rebooting seemed to "fix" it and the phone cooled down...

What if this happens at night? Or when im not near it...

Updated my 6S Plus to 9.1 yesterday. Ever since, it's been getting extremely hot in the area around the back camera. It's so hot, I can barely touch it. It'll cool down quickly when the display's off but gets hot again as soon as I use it - doesn't matter which app is on - simply browsing the web on Safari is enough to get it glowing hot. Battery life is also total crap now (went down from 100% to 75 in less than 20 minutes). The battery settings don't show anything unusual.

Anyone else been seeing this? I already did a full reset and set it up as a new phone, still has the same problem.
Try a hard reset. That seems to help a lot offs issues on the iPhone 6s models.

6S (non plusse) with the Samsung a9 here, same thing. Can definitely tell where the CPU is now! The whole right side of the device has been getting worryingly hot since 9.1, as it coincides with the weather really heating up its a potential nightmare. Had to take it out of my pocket last week it was that hot, now thinking a trip to Apple might be worthwhile..

I've definitely noticed a hit on battery life too, if you check your settings is Siri now burning a lot of power? Since 9.1 I think there may be a bug wit Siri and a couple of watch apps that I have actually deleted, still chewing background power! After multiple resets and airplane mode.

In the house there are 4 other devices on iOS 9.1, no problems on them (5S, iPad Airs 1&2, iPad mini 2.

Have been holding off resetting as I really want to keep all my health data but I think it's time to try - was an upgrade from 6 and running the same restore which is always a recipe for disaster/weirdness.

Forgot to add, pre 9.1 batteries of phone and watch would sort of be close to each other, right now it says (Siri used 36% wtf!, in 4 hours too)
: 48% and dropping rapidly, very hot right now. Not running any thing except looking at "Today"
⌚️: 79%
Mine also has the Samsung chip. Battery usage says Safari used 48% of the battery - WTF? Gets glowing hot within minutes of using the phone and cools down within a few minutes when putting it down. The battery won't last more than 8 hours :-(

Here's an update: the problem has been resolved. Turns out that my mobile provider (Swisscom) pushed a faulty Carrier Bundle to 2 million iPhones and didn't realize for days. The new bundle was supposed to enable WiFi calling but ended up sending the CPU load up to 90% permanently. They fixed it yesterday and my phone's back to normal. If you're a Swisscom customer reading this: you need CB 22.2 if you don't want your phone to get fried.

Awesome job Swisscom - I literally wasted 2 entire days re-installing, writing help requests and on the phone with tech support.

It has been about a week Since going nuclear reset, battery is terrific, phone seems Snappier, as if a big CPU load has been lifted.. Battery now much closer to watch as it was before, I think apple should make a clear campaign about not restoring, new device, set up as new. It takes a few hours of annoyance tops, saves you days/weeks/ longer amounts of weird annoyances and radar bug registrations!

*edit to say even though weather has hit 30C for many days, haven't noticed heat issues either. Much better now.

I have this on a previous update and i powered off the device for 5mins and it was fine after.

(10.11.15) Today it was the second time i needed to reboot my iphone. The phone started again to feel quite warm (i was only using tapatalk). Even the front glass felt quite warm and the upper part of the phone was warmer than the lower part.

Now after rebooting the phone is fine again and cooled.

6s+/samsung/ios9.1

This has happened to my phone too while using tapatalk and 9cag.. Don't know if the issue is with the apps or phone
