I know that the 6S screen is stronger than the previous models but im noticing the complete opposite??
I've had my 6S since launch day and it seems that literally anything can scratch the screen. Within the first day of having the phone I had a scratch on the screen that I could see and feel, and then the second day another, Getting frustrated, i got an otter box case that day. With the otterbox case on, the with the protective screen protecter on, Im still getting scratches on the phone, and they're getting pretty big?? Obviously i think its because of something in the case rubbing on the screen but theres nothing there?? I don't know what I'm asking, but im just very frustrated and disappointed in the phone so far.

i keep my iPhones very carefully even then all the previous ones got screen and body scratches. But with 6s the screen is like i just opened up a packaging as for the body. I have since 9/25, 6s screen is not like other iphones i feel its extremely high quality.

i can see the scratch and feel it with my fingers and it's now ocd officially :(
i'm doomed.
do you think a SP will help me with that somehow?
(i cannot return the phone for that reason where i live)

seems similar to what i did..
well, it's my fault no matter how you look at it, so i'm stuck with it (new screen 150$? too much i'm afraid)

I think you should take it to Apple. If it's a defect and they see how easily the screen gets scratched, they should give you a replacement.

i guess you live in an official Apple country.
in Israel they would laugh at me face, even in the 14 day return.
what's my case here? screen too delicate? what should i claim?
and basically, it's ME who got the phone scratched, no matter how..
the sad thing is the SP makes the scratch more visible to me,
but at least i can't feel it.

It broke my heart when my iPhone 4 got scratches on it but especially the steel rim. The glass only had one in 6 years.

As for the 6S+ well I am resigned to the idea that with the bigger display something will prob happen at some point but this is why from week 1 that I have it in a wallet case to minimise risk.

I love the display on this phone and find it perfect or as near as one can be, but nothing lasts and a device regardless of how expensive is meant to be used and enjoyed. If we keep worrying over them we will never enjoy them. One day they will get wear and tear that is life happens to us all.

one question - are you ocd?
i never in a million years thought the screen would scratch that easily,
while i waited for the edge to edge SP i ordered.
the phone looked so perfect.
i was obsessed with this over the weekend,
and even considered replacing the display for 150$! lol
now i'm down to earth and more calm about it.
the most important reason was i wanted to keep the phone value to the max.
now it's ruined..

i took real good care of the screen waiting for my SP,
but today discovered one little ugly deep scratch :( :( :(
damn!!!
it literally breaks my heart.
(and i guess a real good care would only be to put a SP when you get the phone).
I feel you :)

I don't know how it got there. Noticed it a couple of hours ago.
Launch day 6s Plus.

This always brings up the discussion of whether the you should be using a screen protector. It's a different experience with and w/o a protector, but then no real worries about scratches. I am not using one currently, b/c I haven't been satisfied w/ Zagg glass, and havent found a suitable edge to edge replacement. I am currently keeping the phone in a sleeve rather than my pocket.

How much would apple charge to replace the screen?

lol it's around 150$, a 1/5 of the phone, no? :apple:

I was depressed for 5 minutes.

I got Carrier Insurence so meh.
It costs 50€ at Orange Romania (my carrier) if you have insurance (2€ / month) for a replacement unit.
When the iPhone 7 comes out I will pay the 50€ to get another unit so my resale value goes up.

Are you saying that rain drops scratched your phone screen?

It's probably what they used to wipe it off with. So it makes me curious if there are some fabrics or materials that are especially prone to scratching this particular screen. I would be interested to hear more.

Ok, you guys really need to define what you mean by "scratches".

There is a world of difference between a "superficial coating scratch that you can only see if you put the phone next to a light source and move the screen perpendicular to your eyes so you can see them, and a deep scratch that you actually can notice when using the device.

i think that's the kind..

If there's a deep scratch of any kind, you did not take real good care of it. It takes actual forceful contact with another hard object or surface to scratch the screen. It's not rocket science. Not trying to be a jerk, but come on. Don't phrase things as if it's a fault in the device.
How hard did you try not "to be a jerk"? Not very much it seems. Are you a materials science professor? Apple engineer? or currently have access to this persons phone? Have you inspected the unit or seen photos? Hm...
