7.0.1 update coming available today? [Merged]

At an apple store and the 5s has 7.0.1 downloaded and ready to install. Not showing up yet on my phone but it lists bug fixes and improvements for the details. Delightfully vague as usual. :)

It's only available for the 5s and 5c, not for the 5 or anything else. Do you have a 5s?

iOS 7.01 wat?

I just received my daughters 5c, and on a whim I looked at software update.

It said there was one, 7.01.

I can't find any info on what it fixes, since the detailed text on it just said "bug fixes".

Anyone else?

Mentioned in other threads and its just bug fixes for the 5s and 5c

Fingerprint sensor for iTunes purchases and I think no one knows why for the 5C yet.

Me too, however, I figured out "what" was being downloaded still.

Check your Photos (could still be downloading your camera roll) and iTunes Store (iTunes purchases download automatically as part of the restore).

:) Thanks... I did finally eventually figure that out. Could be a while still...

i believe that 7.0.1 was to patch things up because those phones probably had "pre-18 Sept" iOS 7.0 (meaning it's not the same as the one we download on 18 Sept).

There probably wasn't enough time for Apple to load the 18 Sept iOS 7.0 on to all their new device and push them out within like 2 days.. so I'd think iOS 7.0.1 equates to the iOS 7.0 public release on 18 Sept..

You couldn't be so wrong.

The version released to developers is the same as the one shipped on the new iPhones and released to the public (exact same build numbers). 7.0.1 was an update to fix issues with the 5C/5S only.

Umm, the 5c has a fingerprint scanner that needs patching?

Did you read the 'shared hardware bugs' part too? Obviously not.

Thanks - I will give this a try when I get home from work.

Hi Plinx0r, did you solve the problem and updated it successfully to iOS 7.0.1? I got the same error message when I was trying to upgrade it on my new iPhone 5s.

I got the same message and then only belatedly realized that I'd never actually hooked into my WiFi network. Oops! Guess I was so excited when I got home with the phone that I totally forgot about that. She was working great on cellular..... LOL!!!!!! I hastily logged into my network and once it was done, tried again with the update and it went just fine after that.

iOS 7.0.1

Bought a 5S last night, and received an update notice at around 11pm EDT. I installed it, but don't know what it addresses other than "some bugs". I didn't get any updates for iOS 7 on my iPad....???

If you search around you will discover that iOS 7.0.1 is an update for the 5C/5S only.

Am I wrong or is this because GM was too buggy and so the actual release version was different than the GM? So the 5Ss and 5Cs that had GM on it had to be updated?

Pietro
No, you are wrong, almost there, but then you tripped on the laces of your untied shoes.

This (7.0.1) is because GM was buggy.
The actual release (7.0) version was not different from GM, since it was shipped on the device in order for them to be updated.
