I just wanted to report back that after my first full charge of using iOS7 and it now reporting what my usage is under iOS7, I think I might be getting a little better battery life. It might be too early since this is only my first full charge since updating but I have been using my phone today the same way I normally do everyday and I'm currently at 32% battery left with usage at 5 hrs 25 mins and standby 23 hrs 30 mins. and have not plugged in at all. I figure I can get a couple more hours usage until I get down to 1%. So usually about this time on iOS6 I would be at around 15-20% battery.

Hopefully it will get even better with additional charges.

I saw a huge drop in my battery life after upgrading to 7.0.6. It gets hot, and will go from 100% to 90% in the matter of an hour and a half/2 hours when on standby. Is it possible to downgrade back to 6.0.4 until 7.1 comes out?

Just restore your phone as NEW. It will probably take care of it.

After I restore the iPhone, can i restore my backup, or do I just need to go about it as a new phone?

By new phone I mean restore as new, then sign in to get my contacts, notes, etc. and download eash app from there.

As oppossed to restoring as new then just syncing with my backup.

Restore as totally new, ie no backup. However I've a similar problem with my 4S, and it's still draining on my phone. I suspect an app's running permanently in the background or the battery's on its way out though with my phone, your experience may be different.

This morning I decided to restore my phone through iTunes a day after I upgraded to iOS7...even though I thought I was getting good battery life yesterday. I still was seeing 3 GB of "Other" data at the bottom in iTunes so this morning I backed up my phone and then hit restore, it took awhile, wiped the phone and reinstalled the iOS7 and then I chose to restore from previous backup (that I just saved) since I have over 40 GB of music alone it took about an hour to get everything back on my phone. I noticed immediately that I had more free space, the 3 GB of "Other" was now down to less than 1 GB of "Other" and my free space went up by almost 3 GB. I can only contest that I must have had some corrupt data stored and it freed up that space for me on the restore.

Since then it's been about 4 hours and I have noticed better battery life, using my phone the same as normal, I'm currently at 81% battery usage is 2 hrs 9 mins and standby 3 hrs 52 mins. So that's about 1 hour of usage per 10% of battery, at this rate I should get about 9 or more hrs of usage. This is better for me.

Well I did a completely new restore early yesterday evening. It took over two hours to charge from 74% back to 100. I then unplugged it and left it in standby. Two hours later it had went from 100% to 78%. After charging it back again, I put it in airplane mode. Two hours later it went from 100% to 84%. Any ideas of what to do now? There is not way I can have a working phone this way. It's looking like on standby I will only get 5 hours, that's not even counting my normal usage. It was working fine until I did the 7.0.6 update.

Seems ok I don't think it changed going to iOS 7.0.6

I've just returned a 4s I bought secondhand that had this exact same problem. I updated it to 7.0.6 straight after getting it so not sure if it was the battery or 7.0.6 but it's starting to sound like an issue with that firmware on certain phones. The 4s I replaced it with has come with 7.0.4, I'm not going to update that until 7.1 is released as a precaution.

yeah..i can put to use in personal hotspot through usb...and i can reach 10000h usage since full charge. So doesnt matter this post

----------

but if you dont use personal hotspot usb.. i ussualy get 5g usage and 2 days standby

Here is my first charge results after I did the restore yesterday and re-loaded 7.0.6 I mentioned above. I used the phone as normal. I think these are good results.
The weird thing is my phone shut down at 9% is that normal? After it shut down I plugged it in and the display came back still showing 9%, weird.

Hey guys, i own an iPhone 5S purchased in October. Its battery life is always been good ( about 8-9 h of usage, and 2 days of standby). However two weeks ago the battery life started to decrease and now it's around 5-6 hours of usage, and I can assure i've used the iphone in the same way. The only thing changed is that while before I turned off the phone every night, now I never turn it off. Do you think that leaving the iPhone turned on for a month or so, could decrease battery life?

Nope, that shouldn't hurt it. I would suggest to do a clean install of 7.0.6 and either restore from iCloud or setup as new. I've always had good experiences restoring from iCloud. Just make sure you don't restore from iTunes.

Thank you for the answer! Ok Tomorrow I'll do a clean install of iOS.

Took the phone off charge at 100% at 9:54A.M. CST, have had it on standby, facebook, and email since that time. Here is my current percentage:

Odd thing it that's it's not showing my usage since last charge. Especially when I took it off full charge this morning. I'm going to let the battery get down to about 40-45% then full charge it and see what I come up with this evening. All of this was after a full new restore.

@anton: I bought my phone in early November. So I would say our iphone's are pretty close assembly line wise. Let me know how your fresh install goes.

Sure let me test the phone, 2 or 3 days and i'll make you know!!

Respringing resets it

I've never been one to notice any battery life changes with these releases and my 5s has always had great battery but since updating to 7.0.6 it's been terrible. I have quite a solid routine and typically leave work with 50+%. Since updating, however, I'm seeing 10-20% as I leave the office, sometimes even below 10%. I wiped the phone and set it up as new over the weekend so I'm yet to see if the problem has gone. That said, I'm looking forward to 7.1.
