how about the pause n lag in multitasking?

This is the pause that is present only on 5s. does 7.1 fix this lag when multitasking??

Look at the top left of the app, it pauses with a small gap before fully 'snapping' into place

There were all types of stutters/graphical glitches during certain animations, this was very noticeable if paid attention to.

That said, unfortunately, they did not change the overall speed of the animations.

Hmmm my 5S is great. It's the damn ipad version that really needs the work.

iphone 5S is smooth as hell and animations are noticeably quicker. Haven't had safari crash on me yet and when deleting emails they delete right away and the badge doesn't remain.

iPad 3 noticeably smooth too.

is the pause there when multitasking?

Yes its there, but hardly noticeable. It appears to be more noticeable on apps that did not implement the iOS 7 task bar.

There are some animations that needs to be fixed but regardless the phone feels much more smooth and battery life seems better so far...

7.1 is running great on my 5s. Definitely smoother.

I've been testing it on my retina Mini, and things are definitely smoother with the default settings.

However, folks should try the new 'reduce transparency' option. Now that's butter.

Uh... the animations are exactly the same speed. You still have to wait for things to fall in place before doing anything.

They feel slightly faster just a bit behind iOS 6, they don't look much faster though. It's definately not an obvious or huge difference. They could even be the same...

No they're not faster and they're far from "just a bit behind iOS 6."

Source: just tested here, side by side, one on 7.0.3, one on 7.1. No difference at all.

What animation are you talking about? The unlock one?

Well anyway we're comparing 7.1B1 to post-beta 7.0.x.

All animations are still exactly the same.

There was distinct hesitation when using the 3 or 4 finger pinch gesture (multitasking gesture) to return to a Home screen from an app. I would describe it as the outer "ring" of icons sticking before the animation completes. Using the Home button is fine.

Any improvement seen with respect to this particular animation glitch? I've seen it on iPad 3, 4, and the Air - though I feel 7.0.4 is a bit better (I don't have the 4 here anymore and haven't asked the person with the 3 about it).

Looking forward to the new UI options.

That animation is fixed in iOS 7.1. https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/50...p4?versionId=XtOFoQZ9Z6bmEWiHRLJzPpymNBsAeAev

Yes. This is definitely fixed. Icons don't appear at all until you let go of the screen.

Non! Everything feels and works much better. There are obviously a lot of under the hood changes Apple made not mentioned in the release notes.
Wow, this is huge statement. I am a little suspicious since this is a problem with long history dating all the way back since multitasking was first introduced on iOS. Anyways, I would like to hold my breath for it when 7.1 is officially available. Hope this statement holds for my iPhone 5!

I'm really glad they changed the animation launching multitask to fade when reduce motion is applied. The zoom animations are noticeably faster than 7.0.4 too.

Safari feels more stable and fluid, on earlier versions it was a bit choppy for me sometimes. Everything else seems more fluid too, e.g. switching to landscape etc.

I'm on a iPhone 5.

Did anybody notice any major improvements regarding to low memory conditions on the iPad Airs?

It seems like they've focused more on the iPhones again, the iPad doesn't seem to get a lot of love in this round. The NC is all messed up, the low memory conditions are still crashing apps all over the place that uses Webkit, the slow stutters all over the place (keyboard, spotlight) and so on.
