Given that I'm on the original iPad mini, everything looks blurry. But the keyboard has definitely gone from fine to fugly in 7.1. Disappointing :(

Issue is that the keyboard keys are bolded so if you also turn on "bold text" in accessibility, it makes the keyboard font even more bold and blurry. I wish that you could make all the text bold without affecting the keyboard font. Just make "bold keyboard" option in the accessibility panel for those who want a super bold keyboard.

Is it just me or does the keyboard in iOS 7.1 look ugly, blurry and maybe low-res?? Just a knee jerk reaction...

The keyboard is definitely bolder, which makes it easier to read, but it does seem a bit at odds with the thin font that dominates most of the iOS interface.

I don't know how I feel about this… give it a few days for my eyes to adjust.

i was one of the people who couldn't stand the new default keyboard on ios7, both visually and functionally (typing generally felt laggy and more error prone). aesthetics aside, whatever they changed in 7.1 has made typing feel noticeably better, though. so i'm at least kinda happy.

aesthetics included, the shift key states now feel less intuitive at a glance on the white keyboard, but appear to make perfect sense on the dark keyboard. and in fact, the current dark keyboard is the most aesthetically appealing iOS keyboard to my eyes, especially the reduced contrast variant with crisp white type on black. i was so stoked when the option to make that default appeared in an early 7.1 beta and SO bummed when they took it out. i'm eagerly awaiting the point when the translucency fad goes the way of gloss and leather stitching.

The dark keyboard to me is the best as well, I wish setting it to default was an option as well.

It's high tide, Apple started giving us MORE keyboard options!!!

I am nostalgic for iOS 6's keyboard.

My Suntrust app still uses it, and compared to the new stuff it's fugly.

It's funny how when iOS 6 came out, everybody said it wasn't really a significant update, but now it's , "oh iOS 6 was the best ever".

GTFO.

My bank app uses it as well. It has less input lag on my old 4S.

Because it wasn't a big update is why people liked it.

I love the new keyboard and have nothing blurry. Love the bolder more crisp font!!

Already adapted to the shift key but it did take a couple days.

I really don't understand why the Shift/Caps key in 7.1 is white when it's NOT in use but black when it is?
The cue for use is being the same color as the keyboard? Huh?
I've never typed so many incorrect caps as I have with this frickin' stupidity.

Not sure the reasoning for the change, but doesn't seem like it requires that much to get used to it, so at least there's that.

How about the change to the caps key?

It used to be quite obvious when it was not selected, selected for one letter and selected for all caps.

Now it always looks selected. I've been using the new keyboard for less than 24 hours and constantly think caps is already selected.

Then when you actually select it for one key, it changes to look exactly like the 'delete' key!

And has anyone selected 'all caps' now? Same color as 'off' but with a tiny line underneath it?

There are some incredibly stupid design choices in 7.1

I Logged on today specifically to search if anyone else thought the Caps key was confusing in iOS 7.1. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I'm used to the CAPS lock now, but the keyboard seems strangely less accurate than the one in iOS6.
