Has anyone concluded whether or not the 7.5w QI wireless charging for the new iPhones only works with certified Belkin and Mophie chargers, or with any brand charger capable of delivering that much? From what i've managed to dig up via google, a real conclusion hasn't been reached yet.

I am getting my brand new 8 plus in the mail tomorrow and would like to get a wireless charger for it. Would love it if anyone could clear up this situation for me. Thanks!

Most of the original and existing wireless chargers that have been out there, will only charge the iPhone X and 8's at 5 watts. But now, updated chargers are shipping now that do support 7.5 watts on the iPhone X and 8's. Just do a search on Amazon or wherever for "7.5 watt iphone wireless charger". Just make sure in the details, that it says it supports 7.5 watts.

I just picked up these from Anker, through Amazon and they do charge at 7.5 watts...

A friend of mine just bought this, that is also 7.5 watts...

Just keep in mind, the only reason that the Belkin and Mophie were "certified" was that Apple added 7.5 watts as a new profile for QI charging. The existing standard profiles were 5 and 10 watts...slow and fast charging respectively. So existing chargers only worked at 5 watts but the Belkin/Mophie can do 7.5 watts since they have the update QI profile built in. Now, updated chargers are shipping, like the Ankers above, that support 5/7.5/10 watts...
