7+ Jet Black (128/256) Date Change Thread

Here's my info, for what it's worth:

Jet Black iPhone 7+, 128GB, Verizon Wireless, IUP (new customer) purchased through Apple Store app
Ships: 1 - 2 Weeks
Delivers: 9/26 - 10/3
Confirmation Email: 3:11 AM EST
Order Status: Processing Items
Citizens One Approval Email received 9:29 AM EST

Couldn't get through the Apple Store app until 2:10 central. I got my email confirmation at 2:14 central. Ship date 10/4-10/10. 128gb
 
guys, the earliest ship dates for the 7+ (ordering from Apple) is 9/26 - 10/3, nobody got a 9/16 date.

There were plenty of people that got 9/16 when ordering the 4.7" iPhone 7, but nobody other than customers who ordered from their carrier were able to get 9/16 dates with the JB Plus model.

I was torn between the two colors up until i saw the ship dates, I switched to BLack at the last minute and have a 9/16 ship date for my 7 Plus 256GB.

i was on the fence as well but decided if i didnt get the JB id regret it...so i wait... :)

Thats a great point. It seems like this is mostly for ppl who ordered from appl

I highly doubt they allocated more pre orders to carriers but who knows. Really hoping apple didnt screw up demand this time or try and launch in too many countries to start.

could be that the carriers messed up as well, meaning those 9/16 preorders may actually be 9/26 - Oct 4th.

I'll be 100% honest, I really wanted Jet Black but would rather not have to keep it hidden away in a case. I knew within the first day, it touching my wedding band or it being pushed when resting on a table with a little bit of dust would probably cause some hairline blemishes. Keeping it in my pocket over time would turn it into a swirled up finish just like a black car... probably a little too OCD to deal with that. No question in my mind that straight out of the box the Jet Black is going to look unbelievable! I'll check it out at the Apple Store Friday and hopefully not be full of regret.
 
I'm willing to bet that the date estimates for these are somewhat conservative. Apple has a history of under-promising and over-delivering when it comes to delivery dates.

Apple Watch release date was April 24th. My delivery date said end of May 2-3 weeks like mine is now for my phone and I ended up getting my Apple Watch 3-4 days after release. Everyone will most likely get their iPhones at the end of September the latest or early days of October if you have a November date.

at least Apple is keeping it interesting :)

interesting day, 11 hours and 1600$ later.

Thanks for sharing that... I'm in exact same situation and hoping that what you're describing happens. Contemplating calling Apple to see if I can pay the extra $10 for expedited shipping, but don't want to be on hold for hours.

7 plus 128 jet black

Preordered through Verizon app at 2:45 ish. Email says 9/16, initial status said 10/05, now processing says 9/23.
 
I wouldn't feel too bad about the wait. It's highly unlikely stores will get them either launch day, or for weeks afterwards. Jet Black wasn't even available for reservation.

I remember the 5s preorders which weren't really preorders. You order them on launch day and then have to wait until week for afterwards.
 
It seems like Apple purposely held back the plus jet black. I don't think anyone gets it on the 16th but some of the 2-3 week people will get pushed up to the 1-2 week range.
 
If you buy T mobile, I believe the earliest estimate is 10/4 - 10/10. For other carriers it could arrive much sooner
