With regard to cases, I'm going to try putting a Slickwrap on mine. It solves the issue of dust between the case and the phone causing scratches.

I wish they said something too but they said all they needed to by giving the dates. Anything else really isn't in their best interest. The media isn't talking about this now but if they said something it would be everywhere. They are letting Samsung get all the negative headlines.
Get your point fully but out of pur curiosity I want to know why our JB plusses are presumably not even manufactured. I'm not mad just really want to find out why. If the reason was for the additional manufacturing time taken to complete the finish then I would say that's a really good excuse. Not seen the finish in real life yet but from what I have heard it will be worth the wait.
 
I ordered a Jet Black 256gb Sprint at 3:05 am and ended up with the couldn't contact sprint but we reserved a phone that will be delivered by September 26 message. Eventually completed the reserved order but now it said September 26-October 3 estimated delivery. Like many on here I'm impatient so I've been scouring message boards for a hope of a moved up delivery date.

Here is where things get off - I tried the UPS track by reference using my order number minus the last two digits like people have said. An order comes up that looks like an iPhone and says delivery for September 16 but it says the destination is Glendale, CA and I live in Washington, DC. Can't make any sense of what's going on with that and my order from Apple has not showed any change in status.

Wasn't the deadline the launch date? Can't really launch this specific model when you have nothing to launch. It's like a grand opening of a papa johns or Pizza Hut that doesn't have any pizza.

No the deadline was what you saw when you checked out/confirmation email. To answer you question, it's like walking in to Pizza Hut with the menu posted on the door that says Meat Lovers available 9/26 but you took a table expecting to order it anyway because it was the first day. ;)

When I checked out it said to be delivered Sept 16. When I got my confirmation email at 12:05 PT it said the 26th.
 
Ideally they would say something about the JB delay, but as others have said, we were given a delivery date and until those dates come and go with no delivery, they really haven't done anything "wrong." That being said, if someone feels like calling Apple to whine and then reporting back, I'd be curious to know what their official response is at this point...

Also, what evidence is there that JB 7+'s failed any QC?

Yeah, not necessarily saying Apple did anything "wrong". I'm more speaking from a customer service angle, where it would be good to keep us in the loop.

Have your tried your billing phone number as reference also, pull up the same tracking?

Sorry if I missed this - your order is for a 7 + Jet Black from the online Apple store and you ate in the US?

Great news if things are moving. Hopefully Uk orders will begin moving out of Processing.
 
Yeah, the only thing is, the regular Jet Black has been shipping out. But I do think you're onto something. Gotta be something going on.

I know the idea that Apple should come clean was scoffed at earlier, but if absolutely no one gets the 7+ JB tomorrow, then there should at least be some kind of update given to us. Like many, I woke up at 2am CT to preorder a phone that I assumed I would get on launch day, and we're all left in the dark. I understand delays can happen, so all I'm really asking for is some kind of information or an update of some kind.
The 7's are smaller so they take a magnet shower instead of a magnet bath so they get them out quicker
 
In fairness, none of our orders actually stated Delivery for Sept 16th (earliest is what, Sept 22nd at best?) so nothing is out of line yet.

Obviously you may have wanted it sooner (some years people get it sooner, but it's not a guarantee), and I'm sure Apple themselves can't wait to charge everyone's credit cards, but look at your confirmation email.

Look at the shipping dates.

Look at today's date.

Patience.

Usually they overnight iPhone orders.
 
So the people that got their order change by a representative from 9/26-10/3 to 9/17-9/24. Let's hear an update, still no movement yet ? I'm curious if we are going to see movement until tomorrow since we have next day shipping. I still have little hope to get my phone Saturday at least lol.
 
I find it extremely ironic how all of the promotional material on Apple's site shows Jet Black & "Available September 16". Just for honesty's sake, they should change it to matte black! :rolleyes:

No, sorry :( I'm in Canada, the order went to preparing for shipment yesterday after I cleared it with my bank.

These few people trying to say that their friends have a tomorrow shipping date for a jet black are all just trolling us. You watch tomorrow. There won't be any proof pics online of any jet blacks for US.

I've got 7 128 GB and a friend got 7+ 256 GB Jet Black with pickup in store for tomorrow at a german third party seller.
On their website the product went from available on 16th to available soon, my pickup is still on 16th.
Not sure if their claims are true, but I will definitely try to pick them up tomorrow.

That's what I am thinking. Wondering if anyone who got their shipping expedited got tracking number.
