Am I crazy? I'm just not too happy with the 7 other than the new speakers and water resistance. I have always had an infatuation for the 5s design, and after playing with an SE it seems like a very solid device.

It sounds like you like the SE and not the 7.

Personally I'd prefer a larger screen, so I moved away from the iPhone 5 form factor as soon as the 6/6+ was available.

I previously owned the SE. It's a solid iPhone, however, the screen resolution and speaker quality is sub-par compared to the iPhone 7. The screen size is the biggest adjustment.

If you want you can change with me...:). I joke. I love my first iPhone but 7 is something special.
Best cell phone at the moment and I try to explain to people who play games on PC and want serious, stable, simple, attractive cell phone to buy iPhone.
iPhone SE is excellent as well. Special because I think design is last official project of Steve Jobs (iPhone 5 style) only with hardware for future. I bought SE and because of Steve Jobs legacy but more because that's great cell phone.

When you look better even in Europe iPhone is not so expensive if you go over carrier.
Samsung S7 Edge cost in store up to 750 euro..iPhone is around 800. But on contract 24 months cost 550 euro and around 35 euro together bill and rate for phone. That's not so bad and every 24 months you could have new iPhone when contract finish, immediately make another for new iPhone. Plus you can sell old version and new is than even cheaper. iPhone in good condition is wanted and after 1-2-3 years much more than older Samsung.

iPhone SE can't be compared with iPhone 7 at all.

I love my SE, in my opinion this is the best looking iPhone design, it's lightning fast, feels really good and solid and offers best one hand usability and pocketability. Yes 7 has better and bigger screen, which might be important for some, but SE screen is still very good and for my uses it's just as useful as bigger screens. I also don't feel the need for 3d touch (or is it force touch, I always mix those two), actually I found it a bit annoying to use, when I tried it a few times on a friend's 6s plus.

Exactly, next time I will go on iPhone 7s or 8s. They will have more interesting hardware probably. Funny thing is that I had chance to sell iPhone SE fabric sealed for bigger price than I payed with contract with my carrier. I payed 275 euro (24 months) and I could sell for 390 euro instantly and add 150 euro for iPhone 6s. Maybe I could find and cheaper locked to my network because for me it's not problem if he is locked on my network. I thought about that in first moment but same processor/GPU/memory and I liked iPhone 5s, than I decide to stay with iPhone SE.
Definitely iPhone is better cell phone for all professors, advocates, doctors, students, lawyers and similar...
Girls with iPhone look somehow smarter, educated... more attractive... I don't know.
Special now with huge Plus Glossy version. For male is Matte...
Best thing is because iPhone no bad color. All colors are great and wisely chosen even gold attract males.
I spend almost hour before few days looking iPhone 6s/6s Plus/SE/7/7 Plus and changing colors on them and comparing....:) I understand people who can't choose color for new iPhone.

No it's not. But I respect if some people like Android.
Only iPhone opponents behave as he cost double more than other cell phones.
In my country Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge go from 650 - 800 euro. And iPhone start from 800 euro but in official stores where everything is expensive. It's possible to find and for 700-750 euro and for 550 euro over carrier.

I don't know if someone like small phones as SE but sometimes want to use browser or videos more maybe best option is instead iPhone 7 one small iPhone SE 16 GB for pocket and iPhone 7 Plus 256 GB as main cell phone.

Depends on what you value more.

I prefer the "4.7 for texting and it ergonomically feels better although the height thanks to the lame bezels makes it a little too tall. The one-tone look of the matte black does look sleek like a Batman iPhone but beware of smudges and being slippery like a bar of soap too. The edges of the SE are harsher but easier to grip.

I really don't care for iOS or any smartphone and would rather get a different device like a PS4 Pro since I lack owning a console right now. But if I had to choose a smartphone, my money would be on the SE. Its only main weaknesses is it might be too small to text on, 1.2MP front camera, inferior display quality, older Touch ID (but still quite fast), weaker aluminum grade which makes it easier to bend, and same old (but better) design that most people won't know if you were holding a 5s or SE. For $450, can't really go wrong. Low risk, high reward. You won't experience the more yellowish tone of the 7 and Hissgate either.

Ideal screen sizes for each gadget
Smartphones - "4-"5 (more "4.5 or 130mm in height)
Tablet - "8-"9
Notebook - "13-"17

Size of SE doesn't matter so much for me except maybe for the texting because I prefer doing more web browsing, typing, and media consumption on my notebook than I do with my smartphones and tablets. I have no interest with phablets anymore.

I believe the space gray SE is the GOAT iPhone inside/out. If you are so infatuated by its design, then go for it.

Go for it. Be happy.

Can't fault you for going SE. It's always a compromise whichever route you choose to take. The ideal iPhone for me is 5s size, less bezel, more screen, and thinner and lighter.

Best phone for speed and battery life. Girlfriend has the SE, I have the 7. but the SE feels just as snappy as the 7 and has WAY better battery life (she's at 66 percent right now after 35 hours of standby time and 3 hours of usage!)

I still use the SE for my "work" phone...I'm a welder and can't risk damaging my 7 Plus. The SE still has impressive specs, and it's the perfect size to fit in my pocket.

Since August I have owned a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (two of them due to the recall) and an S7 and an S7Edge that I'm using now. I also own an iPhone 6sPlus and an SE. For whatever reason I spend most of my time with the SE. It's small and reliable and speedy and does everything I need a smart phone to do and it's in a pocket able form factor.

But those other phones I've listed all do various other things better, which is why I bothered to own them at all. The Samsung take nicer pics and videos and are nicer to surf the Web on. The iPhone 6sPlus can hold a lot of apps and pics and videos before I need to worry about offloading to an SD card or the cloud.

The SE is beautifully made. I like looking at how the headphone jack is or appears to be old school metal as opposed to a plain plastic hole like it is on the larger more expensive phones. It may be made of the weaker aluminum but it's small so that helps make it tough.

3D Touch is nice and it's a convenience factor, but it's not necessary. One you start using it, it really is a quicker route to achieve what you want from applications.

Have both. I went from SE to 7. Love both, so I kept my SE as well. Will use it once I feel like using my SE. With iTunes back up, it's easy to restore on the older phone

Depends what you want; I've had both and got rid of the SE for the 7.

Stereo speakers, 3D Touch, water resistance and the better A10 make it a much better phone; plus many mistook my SE for an iPhone 4 (if that would bother you). The only thing the SE has going for it is price.

Crazy? No. But your motivation does matter.

If you're after a smaller device, an SE will be great. I've kept my 5 around as a work phone since getting a 7, and it's much more one-hand-able. If you're just after another shiny toy because you're disappointed with your 7, I doubt an SE will help.

I used the SE for a couple of weeks back in August and while I enjoy the form factor of SE (still my favorite design) the 4" screen just isn't practical for daily media consumption. If you watch any sort of videos you're not watching in HD which sucks. Even playing games isn't fun on that small of a display.

I have both. So I definitely do not think the OP is crazy if they want to go with the SE over the 7. I absolutely love the form factor of the SE compared to the 7. If you don't watch videos or do much gaming, the SE is a fantastic little device. I do miss 3D Touch, but it definitely is not a deal breaker.
