Most users ever online was 24892, Aug 28, 2008 at 06:47 PM.

So it's an hour before WWDC '09...

So far:

Currently Active Users: 9764 (802 members and 8962 guests)

Any shot the record falls today???

Let's guess high # marks and time it will occur...

Don't count on it. That record was set when Yahoo's front page had an article that linked directly the "iPhone Girl" forum thread here. The forums take backstage during keynote events (well, compared to the MacRumorsLive feed), so we'd be very surprised if we topped that record number.

Pessimist.

We'll get 24893 :p

I don't think it will either, but if a new iPhone comes out and Snow Leopard is released, MacRumors will see a lot of visits today. Over 28,000 is a boatload of people! Good luck to all you mods today!

Here's my predictions:

15,345 visitors

4:15PM

i find it to be unlikely, although if we were tracking front page views, then yeah maybe, but since its just the forums, nah, won't happen, probably will top out at 15k at the max if that.

Hey Dr Q or WC, any stats you can share from WWDC. New member numbers and amount of traffic for the day.

I'm curious as well.

It was very interesting (though not unexpected) to watch the numbers fluctuate so greatly. Did MR Forums top 18,000 at any point? I never caught it up there but the numbers were all over the place. I'd also be interested to know where this day fell historically in terms of visits. I understand some of that type of knowledge may be off limits, but please share if you can.:)

For the forums, posting traffic was up about 5-6x over a typical day....far and away the most posts we've ever had in a single day. Number of registered users visiting up about 3x. Number of new registered members up 3-4x.

MacRumorsLive traffic will take a while to put together due to the complexity of our setup, but it was big. Really big. That's partly due to the keynote being a bit longer than usual, but still...really big.

Congrats to MR & Mods and thanks for all your hard work. As an end user, everything went swimmingly. Never noticed a hiccup. Appreciate the stats, too, WC!

Records will fall tomorrow! Maybe not the "most users" record, but some stat will get crushed.

My guess is 23,456 Users at 4:56PM EST.

Anyone else???
