I'm just preparing to not being able to use the forum spy due to all the idiots reposting what they just say on the macrumors live feed, along with

"WOW!"

"FINALLY!!"

"that's amazing"

Don't forget about those that whine and cry because a feature they deem a requirement is missing.

Yeah, I was UNDER by about 3,000! I think this event will be much, much bigger for MR.

Good Luck to all the Mods tomorrow...

Yeah, this is much bigger... Even the iPhone didn't have as much hype as this mythical iTablet/iSlate/iProphecy/iDoEverythingYouCouldEverWantAndMore! I bet there will be more people and visitors just because of the people who will inevitably come here to whinge and say that the aforementioned product doesn't make their bed and the fact that they cannot procreate with the device and have little iPod touches!

Just an idea to the mods: Maybe if people sign up tomorrow make it so their first post has to be moderated, just as there will also inevitably be trolls and idiots who think that Macs are the Devil incarnate! Make it so the members with a number (I don't know the official name, just 6502 and up) can approve the post. I don't know if this is allowed in the forum software though.

Just an idea!

There were about 13,500 active users at 11:00am Pacific Time and about 17,000 between 12:30 and 1:00pm.

The highest I saw was at about 11:45am, with close to 20,000 active users.

Looks like the record still stands. I only checked in for a moment yesterday and there were over 18,000 online. Any idea what the peak tally was?

Most users ever online was 31,558, Today at 02:56 PM.

The record has been toppled. Well done MR. Congrats. I'm sure the mods earned their hefty salaries today!

Imagine what the numbers would have been had Apple released something the people wanted.:p

hah.

surprised it was toppled.

It wasn't a true peak either, since the servers started falling over at that time. So people weren't able to hit the site.

Wow. I'm surprised by this because of the time. Anybody know what could have been going on then? Another link from a prominent site? Other ideas? It was in the middle of the night EST.

You'd be surprised at the number of people from other countries that come in the later hours. I've seen it happen day after day. Locations like U.K start opposing up all over the place.
