Let's compile a list of features for iPhone 4.0, both for software and hardware. Post on this thread whatever you think will be in for iPhone 4.0 ( no brainers like the 64GB guess :p ) and the novelties you want! ;)

lets wait till 3.0 is released before we worry about 4.0

Backgrounding.

And I'm dead serious. I want background apps, is it too much to ask that Apple lets me decide if I want to run down my battery in an hour or not?

You can jailbreak ya know. Then you can have the amazing backgrounding!!!!11!

Version 3 is released, I have been using it for months. The features that are in 3.0 have been there since early beta.

Download the 3.0 Software Update.

Available June 17.

Earth to Sky Blue, DEVELOPERS like myself have had 3.0 on our devices for MONTHS now... we KNOW what is there already, there will be NO surprises.

If one person says backgrounding, I am going to lose it.

Don't be foolish, its the one thing this iPhone OS seriously lacks, and the one main attribute other OS'es have over Apple's.

It's the only thing I want in 4.0 at the moment, and I hope it happens. To be able to listen to Pandora while writing an email/SMS shouldn't be too much to ask.

I pray no backgrounding apps also. I've had too many Windows phones and have no use for Task Manager, slowdowns, and rebooting. Love my iPhone as is!! :D

Developers are not everybody. Just because you had it, doesn't mean everybody has.

I never said it did... did I? No, what I was saying is that the request to wait until 3.0 is released is pointless since so many people have either used, or read about everything 3.0 is going to include. Thus, why wait for 3.0 to be released, since anyone who can read likely already knows exactly what is coming.

push notifications would be good enough i think.

the ONLY reason i would ever want background apps, is for the lovely Pandora Radio, i use it nonstop, and sometimes i forget not to hit reply when i get a text :(((((

Yes, a lot of people have read about 3.0 and know the features of it, but that doesn't compare to hands-on using it. Once people use it for a little while, they will decide what they would improve, thus saying what they want in 4.0

Yeah, maybe it is too much to ask since this forum complains everytime Apple does the slightest adversity to their products. OMG, please don't let Apple drop the battery time down by 5 minutes, this forum will be acting like they committed a crime. Apple's better off not offering this function, this forum gets too pissy for the smallest things.
