I'm not worried. How would they get everyone's phone numbers anyway? 🙄

Well if you know one iPhone users number (and they have sufficient contacts) you just try everybody. Then it just branches out from there like a phone tree... not full proof of course but at that point it doesn't matter. "Patient Zero" has already send a jillion texts which costs the attacker nothing past their initial hijack.

I'm not worried either... as crappy as my AT&T service is I doubt it'd get through anyway... 🙂

^^^^ Yup.

Hmmmm...... maybe I'll email this article to my iPhone-owning friends, and then text-message them all a single square on Thursday afternoon.........
😀

I hope this is on the scale of the Zune-pocalypse that happened when Microsoft issued an update that caused all of the updated Zunes to shut down at a specific time.

Ha! Mac's don't get viruses.

😛
That comment still makes me laugh my a** off every time I hear/read it.
It reminds me of how naive people can be sometimes.

When any platform finally merits the attention of a hackers time and energy, that's when you need to worry.
The iPhone has reached that status.

We'll see.

I would think Apple would have issued a patch if it is as serous as the article states.

This is ridiculous. If this exploit works as advertised it would be a disaster. Turning off your iPhone is not an option really.

I really wonder why Apple didn't effing patch it long time ago when they were informed of the bug.

They never do anything. Look at all the iPod. MacBook battery,MacBook top case complaints/lawsuits/problems there are.

their a F-ing joke.

Haha, if I see any problems, I'll go home and do a restore 😛 and all will be peachy.

Not necessarily. You would HOPE thats all you would need to do until you got the text again and it would re-infect your iPhone.

I think if the code gets into the wrong hands. They MAY make it to where it bricks your iPhone and Apple would have to create something to bypass the file that is creating the "BLOCK"

I hope it only effects people who use At&t. It would be pretty difficult to take the time to see what T-mobile users are using the iPhone on their T-mobile plan.

Sooooo, if this actually happens, why not just turn on airplane mode instead of turning the phone off?
That way, the phone can't send any messages, but you can still connect to iTunes and download an update if Apple releases one.
