I am curious as to how many of the current (active*) membership lives in the state of Wisconsin. Perhaps we could just trade email addresses or AIM screenames. It would be nice to be able to talk to local MR members about software or hardware issues, no?

I (obviously) will go first.

My hometown is Racine, WI. But I spend most of my time in Stevens Point attending UW-Stevens Point.

Ah... well, congratulations! You're living in Rosholt permanently? That's really close!

Count me in. I'm over in Wausau. Just to give you a little info on my Mac situation, I've got the following:

G4 PowerBook 17" 1.33GHz
G4 Quicksilver
G4 Cube 450MHz

I own a bunch of Mac games, which I never really play - I just bought them for my trip down to Quakecon last year.

And the majority of the work I do on my PowerBook would be web development with Dreamweaver and Fireworks MX 2004.

Well, that's the technical stuff. How are you guys?

This is turning out wonderfully. If you know of others, please encourage them to post so I can get them added to the list!

West Allis, represent!!!

Add me to your silly little list; I can't guarantee i'll be much fun since lately I've been doing more stuff with my new car than my Mac....

i grew up in lake geneva wisconsin, not there much anymore though

Our student government had our retreat in Lake Geneva...Nice area...Rich people live on lakes, I've discovered. ;)

Oh, and all you folks at UW-Madison. I really like your campus: A lot of interesting-looking buildings and wide open spaces. Madison seems like a nice town, too.

Oh, and the conservative newspaper and my school made fun of yours about 6-8 months back. A lot of people at Madison got their undies in a bunch and sent the paper lots of hate mail. The publication's actually really just a fringe pub that nobody takes TOO seriously. My friend, who's the EIC, is trying to change that, but anyway. Some of you guys took the jokes way too seriously. The paper was the Northwestern Chronicle, if anyone remembers that incident. I thought some of the letters were pretty funny. I especially liked one that said that Northwestern students were making fun of UW-Madison students because we were jealous of how awesome your school is since ours sucked so much. No offense, Madison's a good school, but NU's pretty damn good, too. ;)

its nice except for the people living in lake geneva. its a total tourist trap. most people who live there think, whats the big deal? its just a little town with a lake? I suppose you get used to things and take them for granted after awhile though.

Yeah, I didn't think it was anything that special. You guys do have a decent facility for medium-sized groups to hold retreats, though. We took this boat tour, though, and they pointed out all of the rich people's homes. I guess it was kind of interesting in that it highlighted my relative poverty. :D

wow, i found this from michealrjonsons sig.

madison, WI here. PC user, soon switching to mac (deciding between the ibook and powerbook).

went to school at MATC, then UW Whitewater, now going back to MATC (bc whitewater is boring, besides the massive drinking).

What about us folks at UW-Platteville. We have a really crappy campus, give us some love too. :D
