Here's one more Madisonian. I grew up in Oconomowoc, but currently attend the UW pursuing a genetics degree.

Per-chance I received an email from another MacRumors member who said he was moving to Madison for post-doctorate work. Has jbembe posted here?

Are you going there for Undergrad or Post-Grad? My girlfriend is attending UWSP with intentions on going to Madision for her graduate degree. She wants to be a Genetics counselor. Its a small world. :)

(I added jbembe to the list, are they also a Madisonian?)

i there is NOTHING better than spending these summer evenings on the terrace with a pitcher of woodchuck playing cards with friends...

Ah yes the terrace. I was there this evening. Nothing like watching the sun set over the lake, with beer in hand.

I live in Germantown now, but next year ill be going to UW-Milwaukee. probably going to end up living there.

Yeah, make sure to add me to the list; I'm from Eau Claire. On a side note, I do work in an Apple shop, so if you need parts, send me an email, and I'll see what I can do.

Yep. You're on the list.

Thanks for the invitation cavemanclublan!

Another "register to post"

Yep, I've been reading MacRumors for a couple of years, but finally registered when I saw this thread. I'm an old-timer, having used a Mac since my Lisa (still have it!) in 1984 and helped found the Mad Mac User Group while going to school at UW-Madison. I've been making a living working on the Mac for 17 years, and have spent the last 11 years managing the mostly-all-Mac network for a moderate-sized commercial printing company in the Milwaukee area (I presently live in Waukesha).

I originally hail from near Sheboygan, went to school at UW-Eau Claire as well as Madison, and have also lived in the Chicago metro area and the Twin Cities, before relocating back here to the Milwaukee area 11 years ago (!).

I presently use a 17" PowerBook (first-gen) personally, and a new 1.5 GHz 17" at work (in addition to a cr*ppy Dell Latitude D800, which the 17 just kills, but that's a different story).

See you guys around (did I mention my license plates are "MAC WIZ" and one of my co-workers has "MAC OS X"?)

Hey, I was born in Wausau, but I've lived in Indianapolis most of my life. I am going up there on Saturday though, going to move my grandparents to Minocqua.

BTW, I have never and will never consider myself a Hoosier, in spite of my long absence from the homeland.

I *know* we haven't reached the saturation point, so far there are 32 WI MR Members on "the list". As more and more lurkers register to post, I know we'll find more.

I just wanted to thank everybody for posting, and officially welcome the new members to the MR "family"!

Germantown represent! I've been down there at least twice a month to help my grandmother out with the new eMac. Unfortunately, when I'm there, I don't get out much. The only person I know that's our age goes by the name of Shrea. Ring a bell?

Don't know if I qualify.

Spent the first 18 years of my life growing up in the Villiage of Marthon City (official title), a small town about 12 miles west of Wausau (you can classify me as Wausau if you deem me worthy). Spent ~4 years in the UP for college with an 8 month break in MN for a Co-op job. Now I live in the Dallas, TX area. My wife won't let us move back (her family is down here) but I do visit 2-4 times a year and the only Mac I currently own makes it's home there (a 5+ year old Radius 81/110 clone). Soon I will be receiving my 15" PowerBook and 4G iPod to get myself more up to date and back on Mac.

Forever a Packer fan and I actually own a cheesehead.

Ok... I've gotta ask... when did you graduate from high school? I grew up, mostly, in Marathon City... graduated from HS in '89...

Small world, geesh....

Graduated HS in '95. You would have graduated with 2 of my first cousins. My brother was 2 years behind you.

And you would have been just a year or two behind my younger brother Jon, and a couple/few years ahead of my youngest brother Jim...

Heh.

Man, now I'm gettin' nostalgic for the old days... :p

Yeah, and I went to College with Jon too...:)

Count me in. I am in Milwaukee going to school at MCW. I just got my first Apple 3 weeks ago after spending about 4 months reading MacRumors. I love it! Take care all.
