my roommate's from WI, but he hates on the Mac, even though i've demonstrated many times our obvious superiority. my favorite is to wait until he boots up his laptop, then shut down my computer, start it up again, and repeat two or three times before his ever gets to the desktop.

Mac's are considered a 5th rate user down here in Platteville. Really sad. Luckly my Airport radiates bright sunshine throughout the land.

Whoa... lots more cheeseheads here than I would have expected.

I live in Madison right now, attending UW-Madison, and doing Mac IT with the UW Biotech/Genetics departments.

I grew up and went to high school in Wausau (West) and lived about a mile from Rib Mountain... I see there are other folks from "the sau" here too... pretty amazing!

I couldn't believe the subject of this forum thread when I saw it... it never occured to me that there would be enough of us on this site to make a group out of it... either way, you can add me to the list, and I also wanted to make a plug for www.cavemanclublan.com, a LAN party that I run in Eau Claire. I'd not only love to have more gamers, but I'd love it if they were Mac gamers... we run the entire LAN off of Macs, all the game servers, web servers, everything. It's something to see. Anyways, email me if you have any questions or visit the site. Our next event is July 31st, and I'd love to see you all there.

I am surprised at the number of us that there are here too! Although, with over 37000 members on MR, they have to come from somewhere, I guess.

Well, now you guys have done it :) You finally made me sign up for an account here, just to say hi to my fellow Wisconsinites.

Personally, I hail from the great metropolis (;))of Waupun. Currently, I'm living, working, and going to school in Waukesha (at Carroll College, for those who are curious - seems a lot of you are state school people so far.)

Trust me we don't, but we do have a single street of all bars, 15 or so. Guess that makes up for the inadequate schooling.

Wow, 15, that's a LOT! We only have a few near our school. I've never been (underage and not that interested), but I don't even think they're supposed to be all that great.

Count me in. I'm over in Wausau. Just to give you a little info on my Mac situation, I've got the following:
...

There's only one guy in Wausau with that hardware combo... and if he'd answer his phones once in a while, and quit harassing his techie, maybe he'd have time to play those games.... :)

I'm in Wausau as well... with a 12" Powerbook. More of a linux fan than a Mac fan, but the Powerbook is a beautiful machine, and it's ultraportable... a major plus at work where I'm lugging it around all day. And Fink and X11 give me access to most of the linux programs I'm used to....

Is there room for one more?

Is there room for one more? If so count me in. (Sheboygan) I also had to become a member just to respond.

Yah hey der... I assume all of you are watching the Outdoor Games from Madison, WI on ESPN this week?

This flatlander from south of the Cheddar Curtain is....

This is Eric from Neenah reporting. It's nice to see so many Wisconsin Mac users. Makes me wish we had an Apple store in Apple-ton. :(

My new baby is a 2.0 GHz Dual G5. Thank you, sign-on bonus!

Hey, this is great! I moved to Madison after college about four years ago. LOVE the city and state - tho it's not quite as busy as ST. Louis, where I was born and raised.

I see a lot from Madison - Don't we have a mac users group here? Anyone been to it? I might be wrong - and if I am, we should get one going. Eh? :)

[Edit: Hey eric, I know some folks up there in Neenah! Wonder if you know anyone by the last name of Huff?]

madison users group

i agree we should get one going...

i'm going to be moving back to madison (for good) once i find a job (right now i'm here looking...).

i've been there for four years at UW, went away for about six months, and just have to come back. there is NOTHING better than spending these summer evenings on the terrace with a pitcher of woodchuck playing cards with friends...

WHEW! Okay, everyone above this line has been added. Sorry for the delay, I had to go to Mayfair Mall and buy an iPod last night, so I was kind of busy! ;)

I am very excited to see so many of us! Very impressive.

For the newbies, welcome to MR (posting, as I suspect many of you have been lurking for awhile).

Finally, If any of the info about you is incorrect, dont hesitate to let me know!
