I had the opportunity to use my new 6+ in a full work day on Monday and I got around ~30% after my 8 hour day.
Today I updated it in the morning and since the phone function was killed, I hadn't really use it besides some light music and some wifi usage throughout the day and I got around 80% ish after the shift....
incredible 6+ battery...

Nice. Too bad it's too big.

If iOS 8 does improve battery i will sacrify my jailbreak..my 3months old 5s loses 25% an hour 3g browsing! Ios 7.1.2..is it normal?

iPhone 6 Plus on 8.0.1 OTA.

Usage 1hr 41
Standby 6hrs 53
Battery 92%

Was at 100% when I took it off the charger this morning.

This is my 5s, did a setup as new yesterday. iOs 8

8.0.1 has been good on battery on my iphone 6 even with it stuck on searching, slightly better than ios 8.0, but i have since put it in airplane mode to reduce unnecessary draw from the battery as my carrier has a free app thats data based to get calls/texts. 8.0.1 has also seemed to fix the constant spotlight suggestions using location services

For it to be even close to something that is decently meaningful the battery performance should be observed and averaged over about a week or two worth of charge cycles under typical use. Otherwise it can fluctuate and often does in the first few days after some updates and the like. And even then it still differs depending on how the phone is used and what the coverage is like where people use it and if they move around a lot or not, etc., etc., etc.

Yep. But all of that stays pretty constant for me. Day 2 - still same usage.

Well, we'll have to see how it averages out over a week or two. And, as I mentioned, even then that's what it would be like for your device and your usage, which can be and often is different from many others that can have different results.

Don't be a negative nancy.

So I know most of you are hating Apple right now, but after my update, my iPhone 5's battery life has been amazing. I'm one of the few that are happy with the update!

iOS7 - 6-7 Hours
iOS8 - 4 (yes 4) hours
iOS8.0.1 - 9 (YES 9!!) hours

I think of all the iPhones I have had, this is the longest the battery has lasted. :apple:

And I assume you tested all three under the exact same conditions and usage?
because even they very slightest variables will skew the results.

so am i, in airplane mode + wifi as the constant searching is useless draw from the battery & my carrier has an app where i still get sms/calls through it via data

that's not what i had in mind when i said "running"

I am running 8.01 on the 6 and iPadair and have no issues. I updated through iTunes when the window was opened yesterday and I am not reverting unless I have issues.

For those with iPhone 5S and whose battery life has improved with 8.0.1 compared to 8.0, are you seeing 'stack+backboardd' process errors in your diagnostic logs?

Y

Pretty much. Doubter.

I have no doubt that 8.01 could offer better battery life. But the chances that your tests are accurate over three iOS's is slim to none. Unless you did a clean install prior to each test and ran the phone for those 8 hours under the exact same conditions...then your results have zero meaning. Even the slightest differences could affect the battery life greatly. Thanks for sharing though.
