Right there
Since updating to 8.4 my airdrop no longer works. The phone can see the iPad, but it never sends, and the iPad can't see any devices at all. We have 2 iPhones and 2 iPads and airdrop doesn't work on any of them.

Anyone else?

Same here. Device shows up immediately, but it just says 'waiting' after you tap it. I previously had this issue going between Mac and iOS, but now even iOS to iOS fails. It's a shame because AirDrop is fantastic when it works.

Sometimes switching Airplane Mode on and off fixes it.

I used it last night between my friends iPhone 6+ and my iPad Air 2 both on 8.4. And I just tried it on my iPhone 5S to my iPad Air 2 both on 8.4 then from my iPhone 5S and iPad Air 2 to my iMac on OS X 10.10.4. They all worked flawlessly.

Admittedly I've always had an hit or miss experience with AirDrop. Working fine for me right now though.

I'd recommend resetting all the devices and trying again because it does work, its just not working for you right now for whatever reason.

I just checked and my IP6 to Mac still works fine. Did the settings get changed during update? Are you still discoverable for everyone?

between my mac and iPad it starts but fails with large files!
Can Apple still do something new that works reliably?

Works fine for me but Airdrop has always been as buggy as hell. It only ever works 50% of the time.

Seems to be different experiences for different people. 5S to 6, 5S to 5S, 5S to 6+, probably 97% success rate. Meaning when it doesn't work turning off the phone and then turning it back on usually resolves the issue.

So if I have to do that (and I often do) it doesn't really work does it.

I've never been able to get AirDrop to work properly or reliably and it's no different under 8.4 - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't!

Not really. Does everything in your life work 100% the first time and everytime for the life of whatever it is?

Having airdrop work 97 times out of 100 as far as I go, it just works.
For me and my colleagues it's always been 40% of the time first time, so I'd call that a fail.

Different experiences across millions of devices (even looking at a broader cross-section than IOS) is not uncommon. I don't really hear major complaints about airdrop not working, your corner of the universe may be different.

Conversely I've never heard many positive things about Airdrop so let's just agree to disagree.

AirDrop is always hit and miss for me. Nothing different in 8.4. Sometimes changing the visibility in control center works, sometimes you need a restart. I use it all the time anyway.

Just transferred 20 or so photos to an iPhone 6. Whole process took about 15 seconds. Very convenient.
Yes and I can do the same, but I may not be able to in a hour or tomorrow without restarting something. That's the point people are trying to make.

When I print to my printer it works every time.

When I turn my TV on it works every time.

When I boil the kettle it works every time .

When I airdrop it works some of the time.

When I make a phone call sometimes I have to redial.

My Car doesn't always start on the first time.

My home internet connection slows down occasionally.

AirDrop works consistently.

You must have the only constantly working Airdrop I’ve ever heard of. Great for you.

I suggest you change your car.
I'll keep the car thanks.

I'm not the only one where airdrop just works. Maybe you and Jessica have issues, but there are those who don't, which was my point to begin with. Maybe bring your phone into the store and see if your issues can be replicated.

My iPhone 6
My iPad Air 2
My MacBook 2015
My iMac
My Mac Pro

All perform the same with AirPlay. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
