I'll keep the car thanks.
I'm not the only one where airdrop just works. Maybe you and Jessica and AuroraProject and cynics and MWB1124 and canesalato and Phil A and Rhonindk have issues, but there are those who don't, which was my point to begin with. Maybe bring your phone into the store and see if your issues can be replicated.
I just checked and my IP6 to Mac still works fine. Did the settings get changed during update? Are you still discoverable for everyone?
Airdrop works consistently for me.
My IP6
My IPA2
My rMBP
My roommates IP5s
All Airdrop consistently.
50 or 60 million idevices that can run airdrop, 6 say there are issues? Okay not doubting it, but it's a far cry from saying it doesn't work.Fixed, you forgot a couple people here.

That's said with a lot of certainty. While I don't know what 50 million may think of air drop, I tend to believe if there was a widespread issue there would be a huge internet backlash. It's not broken. It just doesn't work consistently.
If 50-60 million people were forced to reply here you'd see a very different picture
After updating to iOS 8.4 AirDrop doesn't work at all on my iPhone 6. Tried everything to fix it including a full restore. It doesn't see any other iOS devices and isn't seen by my Mac. My iPad mini 2 which was also upgraded to iOS 8.4 works fine however. AirDrop for me has never been particularly consistent but now it's nonexistant.
eh...almost magical! =)You have to admit though, of those 50 to 60 million iDevices its pretty amazing we found all 6 users that AirDrop isn't reliable for. What are the odds!!?? /s
The fact that it isn't seen by the Mac makes me wonder about your bluetooth. Is it enabled? Is Airdrop configured to be discoverable by Everyone?
Yes, both Bluetooth and WiFi are on. Normally it's Contacts Only but I have it set to Everyone in order to troubleshoot. Here is the weird thing:
On my iPhone, AirDrop never shows the MacBook but it does show the iPad sometimes. On my iPad it shows everything. If I then use AirDrop on the iPad to send a photo to the MacBook the MacBook suddenly shows up as available under AirDrop on the iPhone. Only when the iPad is using Airdrop though.
Sounds like Airdrop's normal piss-poor performance to me.
Try turning off WiFi on the IP6.
I have done that several times. Turning off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi doesn't do anything unfortunately nor does rebooting the phone. I have also done the same on the MacBook.
Still not working for me, I've tried various settings and such. I can send from the iPad to the 5S, but iPad to 6 Plus fails and I get a message on the 6 that says "Airdrop from (null) failed".
You could try the same experiment. Turn off Wifi on everything and retry.
Are you sure your Mac mini is meets the requirements....Also my Mac Mini has never detected any devices via Airdrop and none of my devices can see the Mac Mini. I've wasted hours on it and finally just gave up.
