As we reported earlier, it's no surprise that Apple is actively working on Mac OS X 10.7. Bug reports from the early builds were spotted in November and as early as December Mac OS X 10.7 signatures have appeared in web logs from Apple-owned IP addresses. More spottings have been since reported, and we've found Mac OS X 10.7 signatures in our own web logs.
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_7; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.7.1 (KHTM
L, like Gecko) Version/4.1 Safari/532.7.3
Apple has said nothing of the next major version of Mac OS X, though John Gruber had said he had heard that Mac OS X 10.7 would be ready for developer release by WWDC this June.

Rumored features that never made it into Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard such as the Marble interface revamp may make it's way into 10.7.

I cannot wait for this. I love software and I'm enthusiastic about every Mac OS X release.

Do we think that we might see 10.7 released in Spring 2011?

Funny thing about user agent strings - you can change them sooo easily. I would be completely unsurprised if this was just some bored rumor monger going around with a modified user agent string to set off rumors.

I have only some wishes:

- A new file system would be nice (ZFS?)
- I would like, if I could change the overall font size and windows color
- build in file overwrite/merge, similar to Windows/Linux

Let's hope that feature number #1 is that the OS is rock solid and stable. We haven't had this feature since panther and tiger. Both Leopards brought far too many crashes and beach balls to the party.

Maybe the tablet runs 10.7.

Should be a great first 6 months of 2010 from Apple.

RE: I cannot wait for this. I love software and I'm enthusiastic about every Mac OS X release.

I would much rather see 10.6 improved than hurrying onto some new fangled whatever. In particular for 4D where (with several other applications) we are waiting for a bug fix from Apple as currently there is a open file bug that makes my database unusable, requiring returning to 10.5.8 if possible.

I want:

-new filesystem, hopefully ZFS
-enhanced interface
-make it so that i can use the arrow keys to switch buttons (like from continue to cancel) on windows
-phase out 32bit and have longterm support for snow leopard
-completely 64 bit os
-more speed improvements

Article says they are from known Apple IP addresses.

Hopefully they will bring out TRIM support for the SSDs !

Oh and a shortcut to maximise windows please..

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1; en-gb; Nexus One Build/ERD79) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

I love It. Things move fast in the world of Apple!

Can't wait to see what they bring to the OS next.

So Snow Leopard was a rip off then? I haven't seen any to the Grand Centralized and OpenCL based apps yet (Taking to you FinalCut!). And how much would this upgrade cost? $29-$129?
