My dad is a truck driver for Fedex and just delivered a big box to Best Buy. It was covered in a black cloth and white security tape and said do not open till March 23rd. Think it's iPads or new MacBook Pros or something less interesting.

apple's site says the wi-fi ipad series is being released in late march. the 23rd is late in march. no doubt it has to be the ipads since people already know about them. i don't think they'd ship the macbook pros like that.

Wirelessly posted (iPod Touch 2G 8GB: Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

Yeah the MBP's are supposedly not ready yet. (no real source)

Intels arrandale with the integrated graphics... Apple doesn't like. So making new ones would take time.

If the recent iPad production issue rumors are true, how could these be iPads?
im pretty sure they only said it will be a limited amount of ipads being distributed rather than what they expected. so im sure those are still the ipads...

Hmmm...pretty sure Tim Cook said in the meeting with Wall Street bankers last week (or a week before) that iPads would be released to market stage by stage. Firstly Apple direct sales, ie Apple online store and Apple retail stores, and then other channels. Therefore BestBuy is unlikely to get the first shipment of iPads, especially given recent rumours of constrained supplies.

Sounds like merchandising stuff. No way Apple would pre-position a device that's not FCC approved yet--one design change means you have to pull all those devices back to mod them.

I don't believe the wifi only version needs FCC clearance.
