I doubt Apple would ship any product to it's own stores and expect them to keep them quiet until March 23rd let alone Best Buy. If anything, Best Buy gets it's new model Apple products after they've been announced and delivered in Apple's own stores.

Its probably the indoor setup for the Ipad..

+1, Good point. If apple want to sell more of their product they have to leak some info/rumors about it

The Wait continues

Wonder what they could be then...so exciting :D

Sounds like merchandising stuff. No way Apple would pre-position a device that's not FCC approved yet--one design change means you have to pull all those devices back to mod them.

FCC or not FCC, but door with a sign DO NOT ENTER (until March 23rd) is much more attractive than a simple door.

No matter what is inside the Black box, they do want it to make some fuss. There is no other reason to ship something so early (3 weeks left) to BB.

I concur on the merchandising part. It wouldn't be strange for signage and documentation to be sent early, as it wouldn't be a big deal if someone broke the seal early.

That was my thought too - could be stuff related to iPad, like displays etc to coincide with online ordering. Of course, could also be the same for MBPs, but with the iPad launch announced in that time frame, you gotta go with iPad.

Any of our fellow posters who work at Best Buy receive mysterious Apple packages too? Care to "drop" it off a forklift for us?

So Apple wants the story leaked? I'm not sure what you mean.

That's right. Now everybody is quite excited and will wait for March 23rd. This is called controlled leak and Apple is quite famous of using it. It basically makes free and very effective advertisement campaign.

In my opinion, all references to MBP update so far have been either fake, or seeded by Apple themselves. Actually, this must be true for most of all "leaks"

red Herring?

Perhaps it is something being released tomorrow and they thought they would throw everybody off the scent by putting an embargo on until March 23rd?

OP, get somebody at that bestbuy to xray the box. the label never said anything about xrays! Y ou don't have to open it to see what is inside. heheh!:D

What if it's the iPad...but it turns out the iPad has a camera, but uses film! The xray ruins the film, and everybody gets in trouble. Not worth the risk imo.

Seems as though a roll of film would be to thick to fit into the iPad's chassis. Better stick to more "traditional" methods...
